Kylie Minogue revealed she played a fantastic April Fool’s Day prank on her fans. She jokingly led them to believe she was releasing a new EP yesterday.
A seemingly unexpected release titled Hot Air Balloon For Two generated excitement among fans, who were eager for new music from the artist.
It turns out the celebrity was joking all along! She recently shared on Instagram how she pulled off the funny prank.
The singer recounted watching a funny clip of Will Ferrell, playing Ron Burgundy, pretending to list his favorite songs by Kylie Minogue. He playfully invented three fake song titles – ‘Take Me To the River’, ‘Hot Air Balloon for Two’, and ‘Sydney Nights’ – as he did so.
I was watching this funny video, and it suddenly gave me an idea,” Kylie explained to her fans. “I realized it could be really fun, so I quickly put together a short music project. I even asked my team to share the original video to get people thinking about it, and then I posted a quick sneak peek on my social media story – a little bit of mystery at midnight.

At midnight, she told her fans the new release was available, sharing a tracklist filled with made-up song titles. But when fans clicked the link, it actually led them to the YouTube video for her 1992 hit, ‘What Kind of Fool (Heard All That Before)’.

“Oh my god, this absolutely sent me,” Kylie admitted. “You know I love you all really.”
She playfully acknowledged the April Fool’s Day prank in the comments, saying she owed her fans one. She gave a shout-out to her team and Jimmy Fallon for making it fun, but was genuinely surprised by how prepared everyone was! She was impressed by the enthusiastic response and expressed her love for her fans.
