Kylie Minogue was honored with a special star, symbolizing her extraordinary achievement of delighting audiences at Melbourne Park.
In 1990, the cherished pop queen made her initial performance at Rod Laver Arena, a venue that was formerly known as the National Tennis Centre.
Since then she’s played a whopping 33 shows at the venue, and sold more than 386,000 tickets.
John Harnden, the CEO of Melbourne Park, revealed a new star, which now stands proudly in the courtyard of Rod Laver Arena, neighboring the statue dedicated to the late Michael Gudinski.
35 years ago, I made my debut on this very stage, and it’s humbling to be recognized in such a manner, especially in my beloved hometown of Melbourne, where it all began for me.
‘It seems appropriate that MG will be watching over my star each day,’ Minogue said.

Currently, the Australian pop queen is astonishing audiences with her Tension Tour, offering a sentimental journey through her most popular songs. Surrounded by modern backup dancers and equipped with a grand stage setup, it’s an experience blending the past with the future.
As a devoted fan, I can’t wait to attend the tour that showcases her 16th studio album bearing the same title. Already, it has established itself as an unmissable event, and Kylie yet again solidifies her status as one of Australia’s most treasured musical legends by demonstrating why she continues to captivate us with her talent.
The opening track “Padam Padam” from Tension’s debut single has achieved massive success in the United States, earning acclaim for its infectious melody and memorable chorus.
It won the inaugural Best Pop Dance Recording award at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards in February.
Kylie let out a joyful scream as she found out she’d won her first Grammy in eighteen years, making it her second one altogether.
The popularity of Tension significantly grew due to TikTok, where the song “Padam Padam” became a sensation, highlighting the crucial role that social media plays in contemporary music launches.
Kylie addressed her chart comeback on social media at the time, thanking fans for their support.
‘I can’t thank you enough. My heart is bursting with joy so thank you so so much,’ she gushed.

The singer behind “Can’t Get You Outta My Head” exclaimed, “Wow, this is another astonishing twist in my personal and professional journey.
I truly appreciate the outpouring of love and backing from each one of you who’s joined me on this journey with Padam Padam. You have made it all happen for me, and I am deeply grateful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Die-hard Kylie fans have praised her latest stage spectacular.
What a fantastic night! For more than two decades, I’ve attended Kylie concerts with my mom and sister, and each moment has been delightful,” one enthusiastic fan expressed.
‘Can’t believe the energy still after all these years. You’re a QUEEN.’
In agreement: One of the finest evenings I’ve ever had, thanks to your outstanding performance! I’m still buzzing from it!
The tour will next stop in Brisbane before heading to Sydney.
