Kylie Jenner’s Climate Hypocrisy: Private Jet Use Sparks Outrage Amid LA Wildfires

It’s been claimed that Kylie Jenner has been branded as a ‘climate offender’ following her recent statement on aid measures for the destructive wildfires in Los Angeles, which came only a few hours after her private jet had made its 11th trip since January 1.

Regardless of the increasing criticism towards stars like her and her sister Kim Kardashian for their frequent air travel, the reality-turned-businesswoman shows no signs of reducing her flights in 2025.

To put it simply, I’ve been fortunate enough to take my high-end £70 million private jet for a spin eleven times this year so far. Interestingly, on the 16th of January alone, I managed to squeeze in three flights aboard this marvel of modern aviation.

According to data gathered by CelebrityJets, a total of approximately 162 metric tons of carbon dioxide have been released from jet flights so far.

33 households’ worth of electricity consumption is used up in a single year, as estimated by the Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator.

11 flights were made, and it was found that approximately 36% (or four) of these flights lasted less than an hour. Remarkably, during one of those brief trips, the plane spent only 15 minutes aloft.

The jet has also flown eight times since the catastrophic wildfires broke out on January 7.

On January 9, it completed one of its briefest flights, spending only 15 minutes aloft as it traveled from Los Angeles to Camarillo, which are both located in the state of California.

The trip emitted one ton of CO2 emissions and used 120 gallons of jet fuel.

Three days on, I was back in the air once more, bound for the sun-kissed vistas of Palm Springs. This journey clocked in at about 36 minutes, and as expected, it left behind an additional three metric tons of CO2, with a hefty bill of $1,555 attached to its carbon footprint.

After some time had passed, Kylie set off towards London to accompany her boyfriend Timothée Chalamet at the premiere of his latest Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown. Interestingly, instead of arriving in a car like expected, the actor chose a Lime bike for his red carpet entrance.

After enjoying their time in Europe, the smitten pair boarded a plane again for a quick 47-minute trip over the English Channel to reach Paris, France.

The trip released approximately 4 metric tons of carbon dioxide and 361 gallons of jet fuel, with a total expense of around $2,000 – an amount that’s almost six times the price of a single first-class Eurostar ticket, which only takes about three hours to complete.

During her return journey to America, the plane made stops at Fargo, North Dakota and Rifle, Colorado, before finally touching down in Teterboro, New Jersey. In total, this trip involved completing three flights within a 24-hour period.

Her arrival corresponded with a post on her Kylie Cosmetics Instagram page, announcing plans to donate ‘skincare, body care, hair care, and make-up products’ to aid in supplying confidence-boosting items for teenagers in Altadena, helping them regain their self-image.

‘It’s incredibly distressing to witness the destruction from the fires in Los Angeles, as we see countless individuals being displaced and learn about those who’ve lost everything. These accounts are heart-wrenching and hard to fathom.’

In sheer exhilaration, I can’t help but share my thoughts about the recent post that ignited an incredible response, amassing an impressive 21,000 likes! However, it seems this post stirred a wave of dissent over the topic of jet usage. One devoted follower, with a heart full of concern and conviction, urged me to channel my influence wisely by saying, “Use your power accordingly.

‘Flying privately to Paris multiple times a year, which exacerbates the heatwaves and wildfires in Los Angeles, while providing only temporary aid to its struggling middle-class fire victims, appears incredibly cruel.’

In 2020, the affluent mother of two acquired the Bombardier Global 7500 aircraft, estimated to cost around $72.8 million, and customized each seat using luxurious Hermès throws.

She took 195 flights in 2024, according to Celebrity Private Jet Tracker.

The outrage over her jet usage has significantly intensified as numerous wildfires have devastated vast areas of Southern California, turning them into a blazing inferno. Over 40,000 acres have been reduced to ashes, resulting in the tragic loss of 27 lives.

One angry individual on Reddit commented that ‘They show no concern; they’ll never show any concern. Sharing donation links by Kylie appears to be more about appearance than actual caring.’

As a committed observer, I find it quite perplexing when someone like Kylie, who contributes significantly to environmental issues such as excessive jet use leading to wildfires, shares insights about the LA fires. It’s a bit challenging to comprehend her perspective during these critical times, especially when she continues to utilize her private jet while the fires are still burning. I guess we could call it an intriguing paradox.

It’s not the first time that Jenner has been accused of ‘eco-terrorism’.

Last summer of 2022, I found myself in the hot seat due to my decision to take a 12-minute flight on my personal aircraft for a 26-mile trip that could’ve been covered in approximately 39 minutes by automobile.

The disclosure occurred after a series of posts from the celebrity known as the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, who encouraged her followers to adopt eco-friendly practices in order to protect our planet.

She had consistently plugged the eco-friendly products she buys for her daughter Stormi.

Previously, I’ve shared with my cherished followers that I’m embracing a vegan and pure approach in my product line, as it feels like the perfect moment for an upgrade. It’s all about taking things to the next level!

Jenner, similar to several other celebrities, has faced criticism from environmental advocates and the press due to their frequent private jet travel.

In 2022, Taylor Swift, a prominent figure in the pop industry, was identified as the top celebrity emitting CO2 that year, according to DailyMail.com. The report highlighted the numerous flights she took during her whirlwind romance with Travis Kelce in 2023.
