Kylie Jenner reveals the OTHER baby name she called son Aire - that wasn't Wolf - as she puts naming struggle down to postpartum depression

As a fellow mother and fan of Kylie Jenner, I can’t help but admire her bravery and vulnerability when it comes to sharing her postpartum struggles. It takes a strong woman to open up about such personal experiences and offer comfort and encouragement to other mothers who may be going through the same thing.

During an interview with British Vogue, Kylie Jenner shared that she almost called her newborn son “Aire,” while dealing with postpartum depression.

Initially, the 27-year-old cosmetics tycoon used to call her son Knight for quite some time before deciding on his final name.

Despite being completely content with her decision on naming her youngest child, the reality star playfully mentioned that her daughter, Stormi, occasionally inquires if she recalls when Aire’s name was supposed to be Knight.

Instead of “The six-year-old, who the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum shares with Travis Scott, also insists to her mom that she prefers the name Knight over Aire,” you could say: “Kim Kardashian’s six-year-old daughter with Travis Scott expresses a preference for the name Knight instead of Aire when talking to her mother.”

Whenever the topic arises, Jenner simply dismisses it as if she doesn’t recall that particular incident.

In my expertise as a lifestyle consultant, let me share an experience from my past. My ex-partner, aged 33, and I were pondering over a name for our new home. Initially, we chose “Aire,” but soon realized it didn’t resonate with him. The name “Wolf” just didn’t seem to fit his personality or vibe. So, we decided to reconsider our options and find a name that truly reflected who he was.

In March 2022, exactly one month after his birth, Jenner explained that Wolf was no longer the name of her child.

In his explanation, the billionaire said, “We honestly didn’t think it was him. I felt compelled to mention this because I’ve been noticing ‘Wolf’ everywhere.”

Just ahead of her son’s first birthday, she shared his new name, Aire, which means ‘Lion of God.’

In her conversation with British Vogue, Jenner opened up about feeling like she has found her true identity once more.

Reflecting on that period, she shared that throughout her pregnancy, she wore sweatpants daily due to lack of time to attend to some minor aspects of her life. Postpartum lasted an entire year for her. She elaborated that both mentally and hormonally, it was a challenging experience.

Following Aire’s birth, Jenner noted that she endured ‘major baby blues.’

She shared with the publication that the experiences were distinct for her in two instances. Likely, what she felt during the first instance could be attributed to baby blues with her son, explaining why she was unusually emotional about things that wouldn’t typically move her much.

jenner mentioned that she spent the entire day talking to her mother, Kris Jenner, while in tears, trying to decide on a name for Aire.

In my personal experience, I strongly urge my dear friends who are expecting, please choose your baby’s name ahead of time. Once those powerful hormones kick in, trust me, making decisions becomes quite challenging, if not impossible.

At that moment, the mother of two expressed that not having the ability to pick a name for her newborn son left her feeling as though she had fallen short or failed.

In her recollection, upon first encountering him, I found him absolutely captivating and could hardly fathom his perfection. I felt woefully inadequate, struggling to find a suitable name for him. He truly merited far more than my feeble attempts. This simple interaction somehow stirred up deep feelings within me.

Over the years, Jenner has been candid with fans about her postpartum struggles.

In one of the 2022 episodes of our renowned reality series, The Kardashians, I openly shared a personal experience I encountered: the emotional turmoil known as the ‘baby blues.’ For the initial three weeks postpartum with my son, Aire, I found myself shedding tears incessantly throughout the day.

‘It’s just the baby blues,’ the TV personality told viewers. ‘And then it kind of goes away.’

Despite this, Jenner stated that crying profusely made it uncomfortable even to rest in bed as her head ached intensely.

Within the confines of the confessional, she explained: “I’m not a medical professional, but from my research on Google, they refer to it as ‘baby blues’. If it doesn’t persist beyond six weeks, that’s what I had. After approximately six weeks, I began to feel more at ease. However, I can certainly say I experienced a bout of the blues.”

Apart from that, she additionally provided uplifting remarks to fellow moms, opening up about her own challenges after childbirth.

In her Instagram Stories, she expressed to new mothers that the postpartum period hasn’t been a walk in the park. She went on to say that it’s been quite challenging, even more so than her previous experience with her daughter.

She expressed: ‘It’s incredibly challenging mentally, physically, and spiritually… it’s absolutely madness. I felt compelled to share this because I believe there are other moms out there who might be browsing the internet and thinking that it’s easier for others, but let me assure you, it hasn’t been a walk in the park for me.’

I’ve been struggling, I feel compelled to share that. Honestly, I didn’t anticipate being able to attend this workout today, but here I am, and I’m starting to feel a bit better. So remember, you can do it too!

As a lifestyle enthusiast, let me share a thought that has greatly impacted my own journey: It’s perfectly fine if you’re not feeling your best self. Previously, I found myself constantly pushing myself to be perfect, only to realize this was causing unnecessary stress. Remember, you are the creator of a unique human being – a testament to your strength and resilience. So, let’s be gentle with ourselves and understand that it’s okay to experience ups and downs on this incredible journey called life.

As a woman who has recently given birth, I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment that we should not put unnecessary pressure on ourselves to bounce back after childbirth, physically or mentally. Having experienced the miraculous yet demanding journey of pregnancy and childbirth myself, I can attest to the importance of taking time to heal and adjust. So yes, I’m sending out a wave of love to all new mothers, knowing that you are strong and deserving of rest and support as you navigate this incredible new chapter in your lives. You are amazing!
