Kylie Jenner reveals how Kylie Minogue copyright row could have derailed her entire billionaire empire and the stern warning mum Kris gave her

Kylie Jenner recently shared how a legal battle with Kylie Minogue over trademark rights almost threatened her entire business. She also recounted the serious advice her mother, Kris Jenner, gave her during that time.

In April 2014, the 28-year-old entrepreneur and social media personality filed a trademark application in the US for the name ‘Kylie,’ hoping to use it for her clothing and cosmetics lines.

However, after Kylie Minogue’s lawyers got involved, the US Patent and Trademark Office denied the application.

The situation resulted in a legal dispute, but it was resolved through an agreement before any court proceedings began.

Looking back, things didn’t exactly go as planned initially, but I always believed in my vision for a beauty brand. I took a big leap of faith and invested my entire life savings – around ÂŁ250,000 earned from modeling and TV – to make it happen. It was definitely a risk, putting everything on the line, but I knew I had to try.

Kylie Jenner, featured on the cover of Vanity Fair’s Spring issue, also shared the serious advice her mother, Kris Jenner, gave the magazine.

Okay, so she just casually dropped that it was, like, half of all her money! Half! Two hundred and fifty thousand dollars! And she just
spent it? She just went for it! I can’t even imagine! It’s amazing, honestly. I’m obsessed with how fearless she is!

My mom warned me that if my business didn’t succeed, I’d end up with a garage full of unsold lip kits.

‘And it wasn’t even a thought that it wasn’t going to work out.’

She started her make up line in 2015 by selling $29 lipstick kits.

In 2018, Kylie Minogue spoke about the trademark dispute, telling Rolling Stone magazine it wasn’t a personal issue.

She explained that she’s never personally met Kylie Jenner or anyone else in the family, except for a brief encounter with Kendall at a fashion show. She doesn’t really know them at all.

It’s a bit strange, honestly, because we fans are so passionate and we really show it, which we absolutely adore! But I want to be clear – it wasn’t about anyone taking things personally, not at all. I really want to emphasize that.

She explained that trademarks, while crucial, can be a lengthy, costly, and tedious process. She’d been dealing with it for a long time, and it was creating confusion for customers. Her main point was that clarity is key – if everyone understands things, everyone benefits.

Kylie Jenner is the youngest and wealthiest member of the Kardashian-Jenner family. She gained widespread recognition in March 2019 when she became a billionaire, and Forbes named her the youngest ‘self-made’ billionaire for two years straight, in 2019 and 2020.

As a lifestyle and business observer, I saw a big move from Kylie Jenner last November. She made a smart decision selling a 51% stake in her incredibly successful Kylie Cosmetics to Coty Inc. for a whopping $600 million! It was a major deal that really signaled how far her brand had come.

This agreement values her company at approximately $1.2 billion. She continues to fully own the remaining 49 percent.

In the latest issue of Vanity Fair, Kylie posed for a strikingly sensual photoshoot. Images show her lying topless in bed, artfully covering herself with her hands.

The magazine cover features her smoking with the playful caption ‘Kylie on top.’ She also appears nude, covered only by a cape and a pair of heels.

In a recent interview, the mother of two—who is dating actor TimothĂ©e Chalamet, 30—shared that she would like to have more children.

As a huge fan, I’ve been following Kylie’s journey as a mom to her adorable kids, Stormi, who’s seven, and little Aire. And I know TimothĂ©e has talked about wanting to be a dad someday, so the news has me so excited for them both!

As I approached my thirties, I really wanted to prioritize myself, my career, and my businesses. I also wanted to spend quality time with my children, including traveling with them, and eventually, I’d like to expand my family and have more kids.
