Okay, seriously, Kylie Jenner completely shut down the Internet last night! Her dress was just…wow. So revealing, it was all anyone could talk about! I mean, Hollywood’s biggest night and she owned it. I’ve been staring at pictures for hours, honestly. She’s incredible!
The actress, currently dating Timothée Chalamet, turned heads in a striking red dress that showed off her figure.
The competition for Best Actor is incredibly close right now. Timothée Chalamet seemed like the frontrunner after winning the Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice awards, but Michael Jordan gained significant ground with his win at the Actor Awards (previously known as the SAG Awards).
The event is happening shortly after Timothée Chalamet made remarks that many found offensive – he suggested people aren’t interested in ballet or opera. This caused significant criticism from those in the performing arts.
Josh Safdie’s film, Marty Supreme, tells the story of Marty Reisman, a talented young ping-pong player in 1950s New York. Starring Timothée Chalamet, the movie follows his pursuit of a world championship and how it strains his relationships with those around him.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m keeping a close eye on the awards season, and right now, it looks like Jessie Buckley is the one to watch in the Best Actress category! Her performance in Hamnet is getting incredible buzz. But she’s up against some seriously talented women – Rose Byrne, who’s fantastic in If I Had Legs I would Kick You; Kate Hudson with her work in Song Sung Blue; Renate Reinsve, who’s been captivating audiences in Sentimental Value; and, of course, Emma Stone, shining in Bugonia. It’s going to be a really competitive race!
Directed by Chloe Zhao, who won Best Director in 2021, Hamnet offers a fresh look at William Shakespeare’s personal life. The film explores how the loss of his eleven-year-old son deeply affected him and inspired the creation of his famous play, Hamlet.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another earned 13 nominations.
The film received several nominations, including Best Director, and acting nods for Leonardo DiCaprio as Best Actor, as well as Benicio del Toro and Sean Penn for Best Supporting Actor.
This darkly humorous action thriller centers on a former revolutionary (Leonardo DiCaprio) who’s been living in hiding. He’s pulled back into the world when his old enemy – a dishonest military officer (Sean Penn) – targets his daughter, forcing him to come to her rescue.
Joining Penn and del Toro in the running for Best Supporting Actor are Jacob Elordi for his role in Frankenstein, Delroy Lindo from Sinners, and Stellan Skarsgard in Sentimental Value.
Many people were surprised that Paul Mescal (for his role in Hamnet), Adam Sandler (for Jay Kelly), and Jesse Plemons (for Bugonia) weren’t nominated. These omissions were considered the most significant snubs.
Frankenstein and Sentimental Value both earned nine nominations at this year’s ceremony.
Guillermo del Toro’s take on Frankenstein beautifully retells Mary Shelley’s story, centering on the painful rejection of a father and the creature he creates as it searches for acceptance and love.
Oh my gosh, you HAVE to hear about this movie, Sentimental Value by Joachim Trier! It’s about these two sisters, and it’s just… heartbreakingly beautiful. They have to deal with their dad, who’s a filmmaker they haven’t really connected with in years, and it’s all about trying to understand him and each other. It’s seriously stuck with me!
The nominees for Best Supporting Actress are Elle Fanning for her role in ‘Sentimental Value’, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas also for ‘Sentimental Value’, Amy Madigan from ‘Weapons’, Wunmi Mosaku in ‘Sinners’, and Teyana Taylor for ‘One Battle After Another’.
Fans were very upset when Ariana Grande wasn’t nominated for a supporting role in Wicked: For Good.
She had been nominated last year for her work in the first film of the musical franchise.
Despite strong reviews and a standout performance by Cynthia Erivo, the movie Wicked: For Good didn’t receive any award nominations. This was surprising considering the film also featured new songs, like “No Place Like Home” and “The Girl In The Bubble.”
Gwyneth Paltrow was also left off the list in the category for her work in Marty Supreme.
A new award for Best Casting was announced this year. The first nominees are Nina Gold for Hamnet, Jennifer Venditti for Marty Supreme, Cassandra Kulukundis for One Battle After Another, Gabriel Domingues for The Secret Agent, and Francine Maisler for Sinners.
The event starts at 7pm Eastern Time / 4pm Pacific Time and will be broadcast live on ABC. You can also watch it live on Hulu, or through streaming services like Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, AT&T TV, and FuboTV.
