Kyle Sandilands opens up about on-air physical altercation with radio rival Ben Fordham
As a longtime follower of Australian radio, I must say that the ongoing feud between Kyle Sandilands and Ben Fordham is as entertaining as it gets. These two have a unique way of showcasing their camaraderie through playful banter and occasional physical altercations, which keeps us listeners on our toes.
Kyle Sandilands has spoken publicly about a heated, physical confrontation he had with his radio adversary Ben Fordham, which took place on a recent Wednesday broadcast.
On the John Laws program, the duo made an appearance to debate the U.S. presidential election. However, tensions escalated swiftly when Fordham delivered a sharp remark directed at the talk show host.
Sandilands, 53, responded to Fordham’s slam by throwing a glass of water in his face.
Amongst all the specialists in U.S. politics, it was quite an esteemed occasion for John Laws that Kyle Sandilands shared his insights on the election, as Fordham, aged 47, expressed during the broadcast.
‘I’ll throw this water in your face, b***h; I don’t care who you think you are,’ Kyle responded.
Fordham continued to bait Sandilands, telling him: ‘Have a go… you talk tough to the paparazzi.’
On Thursdays, I had the opportunity to share an audio clip with listeners on the Kyle and Jackie O Show, where you could hear me reacting after getting drenched by an incident that was later played. (Fordham referring to himself as ‘I’ or ‘me’)
‘Oh, Lord,’ Fordham said after the attack.
Sandilands then told him: ‘Don’t ever push a Brisbane boy,’
During the replay, co-host Jackie O Henderson burst out laughing uncontrollably when Sandilands admitted he had thrown a glass of water directly at Fordham’s face.
Fordham and Sandilands often playfully spar both on and off the air.
In 2021, during Sandilands’ birthday celebration, the host of the 2GB radio station played a humorous prank by incorrectly announcing on air that Kyle was turning 60 instead of his actual 50th birthday.
In November of last year, Sandilands criticized Fordham severely following his KIIS FM program alongside Jackie ‘O’ Henderson topping the radio ratings survey.
In five out of seven surveys conducted in 2023, The Kyle and Jackie O show emerged as the top-ranked morning radio program on Fordham’s 2GB station.
At one point, Sandilands remarked, “To find out about Ben Fordham’s situation, look below us.
‘It’s like having sex with someone and they die. That’s Ben. Ben is the dead person.’
In response to Sandilands’ swipe, Fordham hit back with some very cheeky remarks.
In a conversation with Daily Mail Australia, he remarked, “Kyle seems anxious. I suspect it’s due to the pressure of the competition.
I’ve gone through his comments about me, and they seem to indicate an unusual fixation. It’s both concerning and intriguing simultaneously.
Fordham stated, “I’ve emphasized that we maintain a professional rapport. It’s important he recognizes the limits.
2023 found me, an ardent admirer of Kyle Sandilands, in the thick of a heated debate, stirred by Fordham’s challenge over his wedding invitations. You see, as a die-hard fan, I was eagerly awaiting the grand union between Kyle and Tegan Kynaston. However, the 2GB star, in an unexpected turn of events, expressed that his busy schedule prevented him from partaking in their nuptials – a decision that left me, and perhaps many others, feeling a tad disappointed.
Previously, the sports broadcaster informed Jon-Bernard Kairouz that he had more important activities planned in Orange when the million-dollar event took place in April.
During his own KIIS FM radio show, Sandilands humorously responded when the interview topic came up by saying, “Apparently, he didn’t receive an invitation for the wedding.
