Taylor Sheridan’s latest series, The Madison, seems to be addressing a common criticism of his previous work: how female characters are portrayed. His past shows, like Landman, have been criticized for consistently showing women in limited roles – either upset, involved in romantic relationships, arguing, or expressing anger. However, Kurt Russell suggests The Madison will offer a different representation.
I think this show offers a really unique perspective for Taylor, focusing heavily on the female experience. It was also incredibly well-written and genuinely fun to work on – I really enjoyed myself.
The show is cleverly written. Taylor is a fantastic writer, and Michelle is a strong performer who really shines in this series. I expect Michelle will be a serious contender for awards.
Pfeiffer stars as the head of the Clyburn family in ‘The Madison,’ a series about a family who relocates to Montana following a devastating loss. Though it shares similar themes with other shows created by Taylor Sheridan, focusing on the modern American West, ‘The Madison’ appears to offer a fresh perspective, particularly with its focus on a female lead, unlike shows such as ‘Yellowstone’.
