KT Tunstall apologies to Shakira and admits she was ‘jealous’ after she claimed singer was ‘shoving her lady parts in her face’ in sexy music video

KT Tunstall has apologized to Shakira for a comment she made about Shakira’s music video, which Tunstall described as overly sexual and attention-grabbing.

In a recent interview on Tuesday, the 50-year-old musician confessed she felt envious of someone else’s success, which led her to doubt herself.

When asked about past statements she made to The Times, KT questioned why anyone would expect her to comment on the work of other artists.

‘And why have I got a problem with it? Maybe I was jealous because it was making her successful.

‘It was never on the cards for me to be showing skin as part of my image.’

Oh my gosh, when Shakira dropped the ‘She Wolf’ video back in 2010, I was completely blown away! But apparently, KT was actually shocked by it – she even called it ‘X-rated’! I mean, can you believe it? It was just Shakira being amazing, but some people couldn’t handle the fierceness, I guess!

She told Daily Record at the time: ‘You’ve got little girls watching some pretty X-rated stuff.

I was really surprised by Shakira’s video – and it takes a lot to shock me. It felt like a very direct and unwanted display of sexuality.

‘It is shocking but it seems they need to shock to get attention.’

KT went on to say that ‘stripping off’ is not something that she would ‘want to be a part of.’

The singer became famous with her 2004 album, Eye to the Telescope, which sold millions of copies and included the hit song “Suddenly I See.”

In May, KT revealed that she went deaf in one ear after attending a Spice Girls concert.

The singer shared on Channel Ten’s The Project on Wednesday that she had flown a long distance to reach the concert.

The stress of traveling and the loud music at the concert unfortunately caused her to develop sudden hearing loss.

Let me tell you, life on the road can be amazing, but it also throws you curveballs! Back in 2018, while I was touring, I suddenly lost hearing in one ear. It happened after a really long flight – I landed and immediately went to see the Spice Girls, which was incredible, but the next day I noticed something was off with my hearing. It was a bit of a shock, to say the least!

I think I lost some of my hearing due to a mix of overworking, frequent travel, and exposure to a very loud noise.

KT revealed she suffered from vertigo for three months but it eventually disappeared.

The Scottish singer recently shared with OK! magazine that they were deeply shocked to learn about their hearing loss. They are now almost completely deaf in one ear – about 97% – and unfortunately, a hearing aid isn’t an option because the damage is too severe.

It wasn’t the Spice Girls’ fault, but seeing them was just too much for me. I woke up with a ringing in my ears, like being deep underwater, and I had trouble hearing everyday sounds – things like a car turn signal or even someone showering in the next room.

She continued: ‘But the worst part wasn’t the deafness, it was the vertigo.’

I completely lost my balance for a couple of months, which was really difficult. Luckily, it went away, and I’m still able to write, record music, and perform, although now I experience everything in one channel – like mono sound.

I began to view my health challenges as a sign I needed to prioritize self-care and take things easier. I still perform, but I’m much more mindful of my well-being now.
