Ksubi Designer Survives Deadly Paris Fall and Makes Shocking Fashion Week Return

Dan Single made a dramatic comeback into the limelight, following some peaceful years of seclusion, after an unfortunate incident involving a fall from a balcony nearly claiming his life several years ago.

On Tuesday evening, I couldn’t contain my excitement as I attended Ksubi’s art installation during Australian Fashion Week. This wasn’t just any event; it was a platform for the designer to unveil his latest creation – “The Diary of a Naughty Kid.” As an ardent fan, I simply couldn’t resist the opportunity to immerse myself in this unique blend of fashion and literature!

Dan stated that he created the book for his now grown son, Justice, and intended it for future generations as well. His message being that one doesn’t necessarily require approval or training to bring something into creation.

This account doesn’t chronicle an entire life; it’s more of a snapshot from a specific era – the 2000s. It was a period that seemed fresh and ruleless, as if everything was brand new.

At Carriageworks in Sydney, the debut of The Diary of a Naughty Kid was marked by an event where numerous spectators gathered. The setting showcased a heavily-inked woman comfortably seated on a couch covered with aluminum foil, amidst visuals drawn from the book.

Dan fell 35 metres from the fourth-storey balcony of Hotel Grand D’Amour in Paris in March, 2017. 

The fall from multiple stories resulted in him breaking both legs and causing him to slip into a coma that lasted for eight days.

Initially, The Daily Telegraph announced Dan’s injury, as a source revealed to them back then: “His legs are in terrible shape; he’ll likely be unable to walk for an extended period.

He’s in a difficult situation right now, and it seems likely that he and Bambi will be staying somewhere else for an extended period because he can’t fly at the moment.

Next month, Dan set up a GoFundMe campaign, explaining that he had been granted a new chance at life.

In a different set of words, he expressed that despite it appearing unfortunate, he himself has been granted another opportunity at living, and he is incredibly thankful, motivated, and eager to return as soon as possible, which he penned down on the page.

Besides me, I’m fortunate to have my loved ones present, including my wife, mom, brother, and at least one visitor daily.

Dan expressed then that his aim was to gather around $250,000 to cover his recuperation expenses and any additional charges linked with it.

Dan mentioned that they need assistance with covering immediate expenses such as the hospital and rehabilitation bills, unexpected travel costs for an early return home, and lost income due to being unable to work or bake bread over the next few months, in addition to other ongoing expenses they’re currently handling.

The entrepreneur confirmed that the news articles were accurate, adding that he had broken bones not only in his feet but also extending up to his hips and pelvis.

In an astonishing turn of events, I plunged from a height of three floors, or approximately 35 meters, out of my hotel room in Paris. Somehow, I managed to perform a summersault in mid-air before miraculously landing on my feet. Remarkably, this unexpected feat spared both my spine and brain, according to the doctor, an occurrence with odds stacked against it at one in 100 million.

Dan shared some insights on his progress: ‘For the past fortnight, I’ve been unconscious. I’ve undergone eight surgeries and currently have metal fasteners embedded within my skeleton.’

‘I cannot use my legs for another month or two so will be in a rehab centre in Paris recovering.’

He was criticized as pitiful when he asked the general public to gather $250,000 towards his medical expenses.

A mysterious benefactor posed the question: “Why is it possible to finance leisure activities such as socializing, alcohol, and travel abroad, yet neglect one’s own healing process?

‘I’ll give you $5 with the sole intent of telling you what an idiot everyone thinks you are.’

In March 2018, Single publicly declared his separation from his wife, Bambi Northwood-Blyth, marking the one year anniversary since his accident on a Paris balcony.

In January 2014, Bambi got married to Dan in Byron Bay. At that time, she was 22 years old and took on the role of step-mother to Dan’s 10-year-old son, Justice.
