Krysten Ritter recently discussed her return as Jessica Jones, sharing what fans can anticipate before the second season of Daredevil: Born Again begins. She suggested the character will feel similar to how audiences remember her, maintaining a familiar personality and style in the new Disney+ series.
Jessica Jones continues ‘gritty’ tone in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2
Krysten Ritter has confirmed she’ll reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. According to an interview with ScreenRant, the show will maintain the dark and realistic style of the original Netflix Jessica Jones series.
You know, being back on set felt incredible. It had this really raw, powerful energy, and honestly, everything just felt huge. The whole crew was fantastic – I had such a great experience working with them. And getting to work with Charlie again? It was like we’d just seen each other yesterday! It genuinely felt like we hadn’t skipped a beat. Walking onto the set on my first day back, it was like picking up right where we left off – a total continuation of what we were building.
You won’t believe this, but I’m currently working on two shows filming in New York City! Everyone on set keeps being surprised – they’re like, ‘Wait, there are two shows happening?’ And I just casually mention, ‘Yep, that’s me doing both!’ It’s been incredibly satisfying creatively, especially because playing my character Jessica is so different from playing Mia. It’s a really fulfilling challenge to switch between them.
Marvel has announced that the second season of Daredevil: Born Again will begin streaming on March 24th with eight episodes. The new season focuses on Wilson Fisk, the city’s mayor, as he relentlessly pursues Daredevil, the vigilante of Hell’s Kitchen. Matt Murdock won’t be facing this fight alone, though – the trailer shows Jessica Jones joining the battle to help him.
This season maintains the gritty, realistic style Marvel has described as their most dramatic street-level story yet. Returning cast members include Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, and Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk. New to the cast are Wilson Bethel as Bullseye, Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn, and Matthew Lillard playing the character Mr. Charles.
I’m so hyped for the new season! The trailer definitely hints at another showdown between Daredevil and Fisk, and it looks like Jessica Jones will be right there with Matt Murdock. Krysten Ritter even said there’s a lot more story for Jessica, which means her return isn’t just a cameo – she’s going to be a really important part of things!
