Kristina Rihanoff is picked up by fiancé Ben Cohen in first sighting since he revealed they’re ‘fighting to save their relationship’ after she was caught driving without insurance
As I delve into this compelling narrative, I find myself captivated by the resilience and determination of Rihanoff. From her successful stint at judge ballroom competitions to her investment in the yoga and fitness center, she seems to have a knack for ventures that require dedication and passion. However, it appears that the pandemic has dealt a significant blow to her business, leaving it on the brink of financial ruin.
Kristina Rihanoff was recently spotted, marking her first appearance since Ben Cohen publicly shared that they are trying to preserve their relationship.
On Wednesday in Cheshire, the celebrity from Strictly Come Dancing appeared noticeably somber as she was driven away in her partner’s expensive Audi Q7, valued at around £90,000.
Over the past week, it came to light that Ben’s partnership with Kristina was under strain. This became apparent when he stood up in court to support her, as she faced a potential driving prohibition for operating her £30,000 Audi Q3 without insurance coverage.
Kristina wrapped herself in a large, gray cardigan before Ben came to get her; she had been prohibited from driving due to accumulating twelve points on her driver’s license for various infractions.
She went to court to appeal her sentence for driving without insurance, with Ben appearing as her witness to reveal he had been searching for cheaper insurance after being quoted £7,500 by Aviva.
At the appeal hearing held on Friday, Ben confessed that he had missed a text from his insurance firm about the incident beforehand, with his partner weeping continually during the proceedings.
The pair fell for each other after they were partnered up on the 11th series of Strictly in 2013.
The court learned that they established multiple ventures, among them a Yoga studio, but these enterprises faced hardship due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Every day, Cohen struggles not to forfeit all he has – his vehicles, home, and relationships. He’s deeply in debt.
When asked about the challenges in his and Rihanoff’s relationship, he replied: “We continue to reside under one roof. Our finances are intertwined.
It seems our partnership began prior to the pandemic, which unfortunately brought its most severe impact upon us. In essence, managing this new challenge is an additional burden I must tackle.
“Both my credit card balances exceed their limits, leaving them in the red. Unfortunately, we’re also facing a business debt due to the impact of COVID-19. It’s one more challenge we have to deal with.
At the hearing, Rihanoff wept continuously and eventually had to depart from the courtroom, covering her mouth as she felt nauseous.
She spent the rest of the hearing wrapped in a white blanket holding a tissue to her eyes.
She informed the court that her regular income came from judging ballroom competitions throughout the nation, amounting to approximately £2,000 per month.
She also said she needed to drive to take her children to school.
Cohen confirmed that he had been solely responsible for sourcing insurance for the couple’s cars.
The judge said that Rihanoff should have made sure she was insured before driving.
Rihanoff, of Sywell, Northants, was ordered to pay £357 in appeal costs.
In May 2021, she shared with The Mail that they had put all their savings into establishing a yoga and fitness center located in Northampton.
Our decision to venture into business was not taken lightly; we’ve always considered it a serious endeavor rather than a casual pastime. We wouldn’t casually refer to ourselves as celebrities, as if dabbling in ventures like wine or cheese production were mere hobbies on the side. For us, it has never been about that kind of casual fun.
I hold certifications in approximately ten distinct varieties of yoga, including post-natal, prenatal, and traditional. It wasn’t a sudden decision for me that said, “I think I’ll start doing yoga now.” Instead, it was a conscious choice and commitment to delve into this versatile practice.
‘I’ve practised for 20 years.’
However, barely a year after its inception, news surfaced about the Soo Yoga wellness brand facing a significant debt of approximately £426,431. At that time, their cash reserves were only £2,648, a stark contrast due to mounting debts brought on by Covid-19 lockdowns.
According to Companies House records, the Soo Yoga Group Limited reported a loss of £488,470 in their latest financial statement, which covers the period up until July 31, 2022.
The financial reports for the period concluding on July 31st, 2023, were supposed to be handed in by April 30th of this year; however, they remain unsubmitted as of now.
Failure to submit accounts on time by company directors could result in personal fines and a criminal record. Typically, this deadline falls nine months following the conclusion of the organization’s fiscal year.
This coming Saturday marks the beginning of the 22nd season of Strictly Come Dancing, which has been surrounded by a series of controversies regarding bullying and mistreatment.
In 2013, during the 11th series of Strictly Come Dancing, Cohen developed feelings for a Russian dancer he was paired with, even though he was already married then.
She subsequently left the show in 2015 after falling pregnant with their daughter, now eight.
In the recent past, I found myself going through challenging times in my professional life. However, these hardships unexpectedly brought me closer to my beloved fiancée, Kristina, as we navigated them together, preparing for our upcoming wedding.
He told HELLO! magazine: ‘Over the last nine years we’ve been through the wringer.
‘To support each other through difficult times in business is the ultimate test in a relationship.
I’ve seen her blossom, from her transitioning into motherhood to advancing as an entrepreneur, which has only made our connection stronger.
The magazine was informed that they intend to involve their immediate family members in their wedding celebration. Their daughter and Ben’s twin daughters (aged 15), whom he has with his ex-wife, Abby Blayney Cohen, will be part of the bridal party as bridesmaids.
Rihanoff stated: ‘She has previously informed me about the outfit she plans to wear. She expresses, “I prefer a gown with a long train, just like yours, Mummy,” to me. It’s clear that she is decisive about her preferences.’
