Kristin Davis remembered feeling awkward when she first met Tom Cruise. It happened at the Golden Globe Awards, where she was with her Sex and the City co-stars – Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon, and Sarah Jessica Parker.
The actress and producer, who will be 61 next month, arrived last among her friends and didn’t initially notice they were chatting with the 62-year-old producer and star of Mission: Impossible.
At last week’s Golden Eve celebration, Davis told People magazine he rushed to join his colleagues, noticing they were already speaking with someone he didn’t recognize.
I couldn’t believe someone was sitting in my usual seat. I went to ask him to move, and when he turned around, it was Tom Cruise!
I remember when she first saw Tom Cruise in ‘The Last Samurai’. She’s from Colorado but lives in Brentwood, and she was really struck by his character’s long hair in the movie. It definitely caught her attention – she was fascinated by the look!
I grabbed his arm and started jumping excitedly, almost like I was trying to pull it right out of his socket, Davis remembered.

I said something really silly – I told him I didn’t recognize him! He asked if that was true, and I explained that I’d just seen him in a movie, ‘The Samurai,’ where he had long hair.
The Emmy-nominated actor continued, saying, ‘It was so silly, wasn’t it? I felt really embarrassed, but he was incredibly kind. We all ended up taking pictures, and he told us how much he enjoyed the show, which was wonderful.’
That night, Sarah Jessica Parker won the award for Best Actress in a TV series (musical or comedy). However, Kristin Davis, Kim Cattrall, and Cynthia Nixon didn’t win; the Best Supporting Actress award went to Mary-Louise Parker for her role in Angels in America.
The four-time Oscar nominee didn’t win the award for best actor, with Sean Penn, from the movie Mystic River, taking home the trophy instead.
Kristin Davis, a two-time SAG Award winner, has left her role as Charlotte York Goldenblatt on HBO Max’s ‘And Just Like That.’ She both starred in and executive produced the show, earning $10 million per season, but it was cancelled last August after receiving poor reviews.
When Davis was directly asked whether she was satisfied with the conclusion she scoffed: ‘No.’
I can’t really describe how much this experience has meant to me,” the Melrose Place actress wrote on Instagram last August. “Being part of And Just Like That has been one of the happiest things in my life.

It’s been wonderful revisiting the world of Charlotte and telling more of her story with such a talented group of people. I truly enjoy working with the writers, actors, and crew, and I’d love to continue doing so for a long time.
I believe Charlotte will continue to live her life to the fullest, with or without us watching. Thank you to everyone who supported her journey.
Davis first played the part in the original 1997 pilot episode of the popular HBO series Sex and the City, which lasted six seasons and later had two unsuccessful movie sequels.
Kristin Davis, known for her role in Sex and the City and a patron of the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, currently hosts the iHeartPodcast ‘Are You a Charlotte?’ where she often interviews people who worked on the show with her.
