Kristin Chenoweth recently shared how difficult it was for her after Charlie Kirk was killed in September.
The 57-year-old Broadway actress said she was deeply hurt by the negative reaction from fans after she seemed to support the opinions of the recently deceased activist on a number of issues.
The 57-year-old performer told The Hollywood Reporter on Monday that while it was a difficult experience, they’ve processed it and won’t be discussing the details publicly.
The award-winning performer shared that the experience almost destroyed them, but didn’t want to discuss it further. They added that those who know them well likely understand what they mean.
The Oklahoma native shared her sadness on Instagram following the shooting of Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10th.
I’m just… completely devastated. We didn’t see eye-to-eye on everything, but I always valued what he had to say. This is just… heartbreaking. My thoughts are with his poor family, especially his kids. I truly believe he’s in a better place, in Heaven, but it doesn’t make it any easier. It just… doesn’t.

Chenoweth called the shocking murder ‘such a sad, senseless, and disgusting act!’
She wrapped up in saying, ‘Wow….prayers for the Kirk family and prayers for our nation.’
