Kristen Bell shared that her husband, Dax Shepard, was quite taken with the on-screen kiss she shared with Adam Brody in their project; he even went so far as to celebrate it with his friends.
At the initial Televerse gathering in Los Angeles on a recent Friday, the actress (aged 45) disclosed that her husband (age 50) was away on an off-road adventure when Netflix launched season one of her popular show Nobody Wants This.
Even miles away, he still found a way to show his support by sending her a voice memo.
Against a backdrop of music from the setting and exclamations of “Oh my god!”, Bell shared that she overheard Shepard and his friends cheering when her character, Joanne, shared a kiss with Noah (Brody) for the first time.
Reflecting on the situation, the mother of two noted that his enthusiasm spoke volumes about the depth of his interest in the romantic relationship between the fictional characters.
In the given scenario, Noah and Joanne converse while walking along the street. At one point, Noah asks Joanne to set aside her ice cream and handbag to give him a kiss.

In simpler terms, both Brody and Bell found out that the script referred to the scene as “the best kiss in the world,” making the anticipation and tension even higher for them.
Bell playfully commented that the scene was under ‘great anticipation,’ and they, along with Brody, were committed to giving it an appropriate portrayal.
In that significant first kiss scene, the intention is to convey the intense passion between these characters and their mutual comfort, as comfort can sometimes be profoundly passionate. As Bell put it, it’s a powerful, beautiful emotion often overlooked in the context of a kiss.
Following every shot, I’d rush up to Foster, excitedly inquiring, “Did it come off adorable? Sexy? Did you approve of it?
Upon being queried about penning it as “the world’s most passionate kiss” without additional directions, Foster openly confessed that she tends to feel self-conscious when composing intimate scenes and resorting to language typical of romance novels.
She admitted, “That action of him running his hands through her hair and their gazes locking, it leaves me uncomfortable.” However, she explained, “Perhaps it was a display of carelessness on my part, but I sense there was an intentional plan underlying the kiss.
She went on to say that the kiss was designed to anchor the story.
She expressed that among women, there seems to be a shared understanding or language. When we craft stories aimed at young women, especially those about romance, it’s our duty to consider this connection. We should aim to avoid portraying habits that aren’t ideal and instead focus on depicting healthy relationships.

In simpler terms, she added that occasionally, women might appreciate it if men speak to them with a balance of delicacy and strength, offering support.
In my role as a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share some insights about the upcoming season of the show we all love. As we dive back into the lives of our favorite characters, Joanne and Noah, prepare for their relationship to evolve into more mature grounds. This new phase will bring forth questions about family dynamics and the big step of living together, making for an even more engaging storyline. Stay tuned!
In their second season together, Joanne and Noah find themselves at a stage where they’re posing new questions to each other, according to Foster. This is similar to the early stages of any relationship when people typically wonder about sharing meals with each other’s families or living together. These small connections and shared experiences bring you closer to someone else.
Jackie Tohn’s character, Esther, who is married to Noah’s elder brother Sasha (portrayed by Timothy Simons), hinted at the fact that her role is discovering a desire to find happiness similar to Joanne and Noah, rather than continually bringing about ‘difficulties of her own making.’
In a series penned by Foster, the narrative unfolds about Joanne, who’s a skeptic podcast host, and Noah, an offbeat rabbi. Together, they journey through the complexities of love and belief systems.
The initial kiss, widely shared online, struck a chord with spectators due to its mix of intense emotion and soothing tranquility – a harmony that both Bell and Foster affirm is the essence of their show.
Nobody Wants This returns for season two on October 23, 2025.
