Kristen Bell cozies up to co-star Adam Brody as they find out the fate of their Netflix show after Dax Shepard marriage drama

After receiving criticism for a recent social media post about her wedding anniversary with Dax Shepard, Kristen Bell sought support from her ‘The O.C.’ co-star, Adam Brody.

The 45-year-old actress received a hug from her co-star, who is also 45, at a screening event for their series at the Netflix Tudum Theater in Los Angeles on Friday.

The event comes at it has been relieved that the comedy has been renewed for a third season.

They appeared happy and relaxed after receiving the good news, smiling and embracing each other on the red carpet.

Bell stunned in an all-black look including off-the-shoulder top and flowy trousers.

She wore her blonde hair down and enhanced her natural beauty with makeup, finishing the look with glossy lipstick.

Brody wore a black and white checkered blazer over a white knit sweater, paired with black pants and matching derby shoes.

Season 3 of Nobody Wants This is expected to arrive in 2026, announced just twelve days after the release of season two.

The series, created by Erin Foster, follows the developing romance between a sex podcaster who doesn’t believe in God (Bell) and a recently divorced rabbi (Brody).

The story follows a couple as they navigate the challenges of a relationship complicated by their very different lifestyles and interfering families.

The show also features performances by Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Jackie Tohn, Stephanie Faracy, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Michael Hitchcock, Emily Arlook, and Sherry Cola.

This happened shortly after Bell received criticism from those who support victims of domestic violence. She had shared a troubling post marking an anniversary, quoting her husband saying he was ‘strongly motivated to harm’ her.

The upsetting message, posted on Saturday to celebrate their twelfth wedding anniversary, immediately caused widespread anger online.

The Frozen star celebrated her 12th wedding anniversary, sharing a memorable quote from her husband: ‘I would never kill you. Many men have, unfortunately, harmed their wives, but even with a strong motive, I never would.’

The post quickly drew criticism online, with many survivors and organizations working to prevent domestic violence calling it thoughtless and hurtful, especially because it was posted during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Bell hasn’t responded to the criticism she’s received, and she also didn’t appear on the Today show as planned, shortly after posting the controversial content. She has not removed the original post either.

The Daily Mail has repeatedly contacted Bell’s team for comment, but they haven’t received a response yet.

Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell first met in 2004 at a birthday party. However, Bell later confessed she wasn’t immediately smitten with him.

She remembered thinking the host of Punk’d was very talkative during a June 2024 interview on SiriusXM’s ‘Where Everybody Knows Your Name’ with Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson. She added that they didn’t seem to connect at all that night.

Three years after losing touch, they ran into each other at a hockey game, and immediately felt a connection. It started with a surprisingly daring – and a little bit dirty – gesture.

Bell recounted that the man asked her for gum. She initially refused, playfully taking it out of her mouth, but he took it from her, saying, ‘I’ll take it.’ After he put the gum in his mouth, Bell realized she was attracted to him, and quickly became infatuated.

Even so, things didn’t start smoothly. Shepard hesitated and briefly broke up with her, but he called just four days later, confessing he’d been wrong to end things.

They’ve become well-known in Hollywood for openly sharing their experiences with things like therapy, raising kids, and their relationship.

Bell has also gushed that every new discovery about Shepard ‘leaves [her] more and more impressed.’

She described him as incredibly protective and loyal, always eager to learn and explore new ideas. He’s also someone who pushes himself and isn’t afraid to be critical of his own work.

Let me tell you, Dax and I actually got married back in 2013! It wasn’t a big, flashy affair, though. Dax surprised me with a re-proposal, and we decided to just keep it simple and intimate – we exchanged vows at a courthouse in Beverly Hills. It was perfect for us!

They now share two daughters, Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 9.
