Kool & The Gang’s Michael Sumler dead at 71: ‘Chicago Mike’ killed in horror car crash
According to reports, Michael Sumler, a member of the renowned band Kool & The Gang, is said to have passed away at the age of 71 following a car accident that occurred during the weekend.
According to Fox 5, Sumler met an accident in Cobb County, Georgia late on Saturday night. His car collided with another vehicle on Veterans Memorial Highway near Buckner Road just before midnight.
The legendary musician reportedly died at the scene.
In a statement issued after his passing, Mayor Michael Owens of Mableton commended the late Sumler, affectionately known as ‘Chicago Miker’.

Kool & The Gang originated in 1964 from Jersey City, New Jersey, and by the year 1969, they released their debut, self-titled album.
