KONAMI’s eFootball confirms ending of FC Bayern München license on June 30, 2025

Story Highlights

  • FC Bayern’s license with KONAMI ending will be removing official club elements from eFootball.
  • Allianz Arena will no longer be a playable stadium since the update.
  • Borussia Dortmund is rumored to join as potential license replacement.

A significant shift is imminent for KONAMI’s eFootball series, as FC Bayern München – the current Bundesliga champions – will conclude their official partnership with the game by June 30, 2025. This means that certain recognizable aspects of the club may no longer appear in the football game title from that date onward.

Owned Bayern players and most assets will remain usable in Dream Team

After the specified date, the current name, logo, and uniforms of the club will be replaced with the original eFootball designs. Additionally, the Allianz Arena will no longer be an option for selection following the update scheduled for June 26, 2025.

If your Dream Team currently includes players from FC Bayern Munich, you’re free to continue utilizing them, with their names and pictures remaining the same. However, some regular player versions might get replaced with others. Your existing badges, avatars, and kits will not be altered.

The game further mentioned that this departure is part of the standard licensing rotation, with additional details to be disclosed towards the end of July. Since 2019, FC Bayern has been a top-tier partner with KONAMI and was prominently showcased in eFootball. The fact that they’re leaving their stadium may seem significant, but it might not necessarily mean bad news overall.

It appears that Borussia Dortmund may be considering a move to eFootball, according to several rumors. If this turns out to be the case, fans might enjoy virtual tours of the famous Signal Iduna Park, a legendary stadium in Germany.

Although KONAMI hasn’t made an official declaration on this matter, if true, such a decision would undoubtedly be beneficial. In the meantime, enthusiasts of eFootball must patiently await the July announcement for further details regarding new clubs and stadiums. For now, with Allianz Arena being your last battleground, it’s best to relish in these final matches while you have the chance.
