Kody Brown’s estranged transgender child Leon calls him a ‘liar’ and ‘a joke of a father’ in explosive tirade

As a longtime supporter of Leon, I was really disappointed to see Kody Brown claim on the latest Sister Wives episode that he’s repeatedly tried to contact all his kids. Leon, who hasn’t posted on social media for over a year, felt compelled to break their silence and publicly call him out on that statement. It’s clear Kody’s version of events doesn’t match reality, and Leon needed to set the record straight.

A 30-year-old writer shared on Instagram that a video of their father is going around online. In the video, he claims to make an effort to connect with his children. The writer, who uses they/them pronouns, described the video as ‘ridiculous’.

Just to be perfectly clear, I haven’t had any contact with that man since my brother died by suicide.

Leon was talking about his late half-brother, Robert Brown, a member of the Nevada Army National Guard. Brown tragically died in March 2024 at the age of 25 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Leon, who came out as a lesbian in 2017 and affirmed his gender in 2022, said the 56-year-old grandfather of six ignored him at Garrison’s funeral.

‘He is a liar. He is a joke of a father. That’s all,’ the Westminster College grad concluded.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Brown’s rep for comment.

Kody Brown, who practices polygamy, welcomed his child Leon (originally named Mariah) while he was married to his first wife, Meri Barber Brown, for 24 years. Their legal marriage ended in 2014, and their spiritual relationship ended in 2021.

During Sunday’s episode of his TLC show, Brown became emotional and revealed he struggles to connect with his older children. He also admitted he’s still upset by things they’ve said and done in the past.

The Special Forces veteran angrily stated that they had contacted all of their children repeatedly.

‘And if they don’t have a relationship with me, it’s because they’re not reciprocating.’

Robyn Sullivan Brown, Kody Brown’s fourth wife, believes his children’s feelings of hurt towards him could be affected by his previous three wives.

Oh, if only I could really get through to my kids, you know? I just keep thinking, if they’d listen to me, things would be so much better, honestly. It’s frustrating, watching them go their own way when I just know what’s best! I wish I had that kind of power, that’s all I can say.

Christine Allred Woolley, who was formerly married to the Wyoming native and current Arizona resident, also expressed her frustration, stating she’s tired of being held responsible for his children’s feelings towards him. She believes he should take responsibility for his relationship with them, not her.

Sources say Brown is also not currently close with his children: 24-year-old Gabe Brown and 30-year-old Madison Brush.

Kody Brown, known for being on the show Sister Wives, once said his Mormon church kicked him out after he joined the show in 2010. However, some believe he fabricated this story to make his family seem more conventional.
