The initial placement in the LoL Worlds 2024 Knockout bracket is pretty important. Not only does it determine the first opponents for each team, but it also shows the potential path to the grand final. The draw ceremony happens on Oct. 13, right after the last decider match of the Swiss stage. All the details are here.

3:0 teams: LNG Esports and Gen.G Esports

As an avid esports enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I’m part of the fan base for LNG Esports, a team hailing from the LoL Pro League (LPL) in China. Interestingly enough, they’ve managed to secure the top Swiss results among all teams from this region, which is quite an achievement!

  • LNG Esports won their starting match vs Team Liquid.
  • On Day 2 of the LoL Worlds 2024 Swiss stage, LNG defeated the #1 LPL seed, Bilibili Gaming.
  • In the qualifier Bo3 match, LNG Esports earned their Knockout spot by winning vs the Korean team Dplus KIA.

In the LCK Summer 2024 finals, Gen.G Esports fell short and weren’t able to claim the Golden Road, losing to Hanwha Life Esports. However, they made history as the first Korean team to advance to the LoL Worlds 2024 quarter-finals. Interestingly, Gen.G managed to exact revenge on HLE during this process.

  • Gen.G Esports defeated the 4th Chinese team Weibo Gaming in their opening match.
  • In Round 2, GEN got victory over Top Esports, another LPL seed.
  • The qualifier match was against Hanwha Life Esports — and Gen.G were better this time.

3:1 teams

During the Swiss stage, these teams stumbled once. It took an additional game for them to secure a spot in the League of Legends Worlds 2024 Playoffs.

Top Esports

This season, TES has achieved outstanding performance, making significant strides. At the Mid-Season Invitational 2024 (MSI 2024), they advanced quite far. Notably, they made it to the finals of the League of Legends World Cup 2024.

  • TES defeated T1 in Round 1. It’s certainly a legendary win for the Chinese team.
  • The second match brought Top Esports a loss to Gen.G.
  • Fnatic became the victims of TES in Round 3. The second EU team was destroyed.
  • In Round 4 high matches, Top Esports won against Dplus KIA.

Hanwha Life Esports

Back in the 2024 League of Legends World Championship, I found myself proudly representing the LCK as our team’s flag-bearer. Unfortunately, we faced defeat, but it was only at the hands of another exceptional Korean squad during the grueling Swiss stage.

  • HLE won their Round 1 match vs the Taiwanese team PSG Talon.
  • In Round 2 of LoL Worlds 2024, Hanwha Life Esports upset the European LoL fans by defeating the #1 team from this major region, G2 Esports.
  • The loss to Gen.G did not let HLE qualify for the Knockout matches from Round 3.
  • Hanwha Life Esports advanced to the next tournament stage after their Bo3 match vs FlyQuest. The North American players gave quite a fight and revived hopes of the entire NA LoL region.

T1

Title defenders T1 are facing a bumpy road to another championship. While fans eagerly anticipate another trophy, the journey for this storied team isn’t without its challenges. On the regional LCK stage, they encountered some setbacks. In a nail-biting finish against KT Roster, T1 barely secured their spot in the Worlds 2024 main event. Their start at the World Championship wasn’t perfect either.

  • T1 lost their Round 1 match to Top Esports.
  • On Day 2, the Korean team got a victory over paiN Gaming from Brazil. This started their successful series.
  • The next win was in the epic matchup: T1 vs Bilibili Gaming.
  • T1 won their qualification spot in the match against G2 Esports.

3:2 teams: TBD

On October 13th, we’ll determine the last three teams advancing to the knockout stage of LoL Worlds 2024. More details about these teams will be shared following the completion of Round 5 in the Swiss stage.

The current pool is: Dplus KIA, FlyQuest, G2 Esports, Bilibili Gaming, Weibo Gaming, and [Team Liquid or GAM Esports].
