Knives Out 4 gets a disappointing update from Rian Johnson

The popular detective Benoit Blanc returns in a new mystery on Netflix. However, viewers eager for another installment might have to be patient, as a new case isn’t coming immediately.

I was really excited to hear Rian Johnson talking about the new Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery! He mentioned he does have some ideas for what could happen next in the series, but it’s not the project he’s working on right away. So, while there’s hope for another mystery eventually, we’ll have to wait a bit!

He explained to EW that he had some early, simple ideas – just basic concepts he was exploring. He described them as starting points, like thinking, ‘What if it were something like this?’

What to Read Next

He mentioned wanting to create at least one more completely new movie before revisiting the series that includes Knives Out and Glass Onion.

I haven’t developed any specific details yet – I’m still figuring out the overall concept and where the story will take place. I think it’s best to keep things open-ended until I’m ready to start writing.

Johnson explained that a key part of his approach to filmmaking is responding to the overall mood and emotions of the world at the time, rather than focusing on specific news events, politics, or cultural trends.

“The vibe check of the United States and the moment that we’re in.

What I appreciate about these films is that they feel very connected to our current experiences, rather than trying to be classics for all time. I have a general idea of where I want to go with this, but I’m deliberately keeping the details undefined for now until I’m ready to start working on it.

The new film, Wake Up Dead Man, featuring Daniel Craig, Josh O’Connor, Jeremy Renner, and Mila Kunis, has received positive reviews. Digital Spy described it as even more suspenseful and shadowy than Knives Out.

In this movie, detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) faces his most challenging case when a controversial priest is murdered publicly. He joins forces with Reverend Jud Duplenticy (Brendan O’Connor) to untangle a complex network of secrets and find the killer.
