Kitty Flanagan and Anne Edmonds Shock AACTA Crowd with Hilariously X-Rated Russell Crowe Gag
On Friday evening, during the AACTA Awards, comedians Kitty Flanagan and Anne Edmonds left the audience in stitches with their bold and daring act.
The duo, responsible for announcing the Best Comedy Entertainment Program award, were preceded by the esteemed Russell Crowe, a prominent figure in Hollywood, who initiated the event.
The pair wasted no time in highlighting the significance of Russell attending the event.
Kitty started by saying, “Let’s not forget now,” followed by Anne chiming in with, “Aren’t you mesmerized?
Kitty added: ‘Also, remember that we’ve already spent an hour together before Russ joined us. He managed to keep things under control in a very kind manner, which was quite pleasant.’
Anne subsequently asked the crowd to show respect for Russell’s high-profile position by refraining from asking him about minor matters.
Indeed, everyone, it’s truly an honor to have Russ join us tonight. Please remember to show him the respect he deserves,” she stated.
‘Don’t be pitching him your half a***d TV show ideas, alright?
‘I’ve already tried. He’s got really good security, actually.’
When Kitty inquired about Anne’s presentation for her TV show, the humorist promptly disclosed the idea for an extremely explicit reality program.
Island of Combatants. She joked, as the audience burst into uproarious laughter, saying it was a place where these men engage in fierce battles and have relationships that can lead to their demise.
Kitty agreed, saying it was a good plan, and Anne confirmed by shouting over the camera, “That sounds like a great idea, Russ.” (Or simply: Kitty agreed, saying it was a good idea, while Anne affirmed, shouting over the camera, “Sounds great, Russ.”)
Both Kitty and Anne were nominated for an AACTA and eventually won their respective categories.
Kitty won the award for Best Acting in a Comedy, outperforming Colin from Accounting. The other notable stars competing were Harriet Dyer, Patrick Brammall, Genevieve Hegney, and her fellow actor from Fisk, Aaron Chen.

Meanwhile, Anne clinched the AACTA Award for Best Standup Special, leaving the audience laughing yet again as she delivered a humorous acceptance speech.
She downplayed the significance of the fact that she defeated her co-nominee, Lloyd Langford, in the same category.
She directly expressed to her fellow nominee, Lloyd, in a lighthearted manner, “I’d like to put it out there that you should have some bad luck!” The audience burst into laughter at this point.
‘I thought Mother’s Day was in September!’ she added.
The glittering event was dominated by Netflix hit Boy Swallows Universe.
In the television category, the imaginative mini-series earned a total of 12 awards, among them being Best Mini Series and Best Performance by Actor, which went to the talented young actor, Felix Cameron.
In simpler terms, Sarah Snook from the show Succession was awarded Best Actress in a feature film for her role in the animated movie titled Memoir of a Snail.
In an award ceremony, the esteemed Australian actress Jacki Weaver was honored with the title of Best Supporting Actress for the very same film. This movie employs the technique of stop-motion animation to narrate a tale about a peculiar snail who doesn’t quite fit in.

In the realm of feature films, I was absolutely thrilled to witness the triumph of “Better Man,” the mesmerizing Robbie Williams biopic, which left everyone astounded with its unique special effects. The icing on the cake was seeing Jonno Davies receive both the Best Film and Best Actor awards for his outstanding performance in this film. Truly a moment to cherish for fans like me!
The film “Better Man” has unexpectedly become popular in Australia following its underperformance at international box offices. Notably, it garnered the Best Supporting Actor award for Damon Herriman and the Best Director accolade for Australian director Michael Gracey at local awards ceremonies.
The unique feature also won AACTAs for Best Screenplay, Best Editing and Best Original Score.
In a triumphant turn of events, the critically acclaimed series Heartbreak High was honored as the best TV show at the AACTA awards. Meanwhile, Boy Swallows Universe dominated the acting categories in the drama field, with Phoebe Tonkin taking home the award for Best Lead Actress.
