As a longtime fan of Kit Harington and his captivating performances, I eagerly await the release of his new supernatural thriller, “The Beast Within.” Although it received mixed reviews upon its US cinema premiere, I remain optimistic that this intriguing film will offer a fresh take on the werewolf genre.

In the United Kingdom, the movie that premiered cinematically in the U.S. last July is scheduled for an exclusive streaming debut on Paramount+ starting from October 11th.

Under the guidance of Director Alexander J. Farrell, the movie centers around 10-year-old Willow, portrayed by Caoilinn Springall, who embarks on an adventure to reveal the enigmas behind her family’s secluded existence deep within the English countryside.

Following a string of peculiar happenings at home, Willow tags along with her enigmatic parents on one of their clandestine nightly strolls into the heart of an old, mystical forest, a place she’s long observed.

When she sees her father (Harington) undergoing a horrifying change, “she also gets entangled in the ominous family secret they’ve worked hard to hide” is a possible paraphrase of the given synopsis.

Last year, the movie titled “The Beast Within” was shot at Harewood Woods and Castle in West Yorkshire, England. In addition to this, the film features actors such as Ashleigh Cummings, James Cosmo, Miriam Arabella Maslin, and Adam Basil.

After debuting in the U.S., the film garnered mainly unfavorable critiques, earning a Rotten Tomatoes score of 40% based on 42 reviews and an audience rating of 57%.

In the heart of “The Beast Within,” I found an intriguing twist on the classic werewolf tale, yet it seemed to be bogged down by a scarcity of engaging moments and details that could have made it truly stand out.

Known primarily for his portrayal of Jon Snow in the popular TV show “Game of Thrones” on HBO, Kit Harington is currently garnering positive reviews for his acting skills in the third season of the series “Industry.

In this production, he portrays Lord Henry Muck, a British nobleman who serves as the CEO of the green energy corporation, Lumi. The series premiered on HBO in August and will be airing on the BBC starting October 1st.

The Beast Within will be available to watch on Paramount+ in the UK from October 11.
