Kit Harington explains what happened with his shelved Jon Snow sequel series

As a seasoned gamer of life, I find myself captivated by Kit Harington‘s latest endeavors. His transformation from the noble Jon Snow to morally ambiguous characters is nothing short of intriguing. It’s refreshing to see an actor challenge themselves and push beyond their comfort zone, especially after years spent in a heroic role like Jon Snow.

Kit Harington, famously known for his role in Game of Thrones as Jon Snow, has stepped into the limelight once more. His recent appearance was in a chilling horror film titled The Beast Within, and he’s set to portray a morally ambiguous billionaire named Henry Muck in the third season of Industry on HBO, debuting this weekend. These roles signify quite a departure from the morally unyielding Jon Snow, and as per Harington, that’s precisely the intention. “Jon Snow was magnificent, I adored him, but he could be challenging to play because he was almost too morally perfect, which can be hard to pull off at times,” the actor shared with The Hollywood Reporter.

Kit Harington discussed this concept in an interview with Collider. Essentially, after portraying a heroic role for such a long time, it’s natural to feel the need to move away from those types of characters creatively. This can be challenging for actors as the industry often pigeonholes them into certain roles. To demonstrate his versatility and range, Kit has been seeking out complex characters with deep flaws. Although Jon Snow had flaws, they were rooted in goodness and truth. Currently, he is not interested in playing a ‘goodie’ character.

For a while, Kit Harington had been attempting to launch a “Game of Thrones” sequel series centered around Jon Snow, but unfortunately, those plans didn’t materialize as intended. Ideally, he would have preferred keeping the project under wraps and avoiding any speculation, expressing his frustration that news leaked out. He wanted the potential series to remain quiet, so if it failed, it could be dismissed as though it never happened. Currently, he finds himself in a position where he must clarify why the endeavor didn’t succeed. It seems they simply couldn’t find a suitable structure for the show: “We struggled to discover the right narrative and something worthy of our time and commitment. As we continued, it became less logical to proceed with it, so we decided to abandon the idea.”

As a gamer, I’d rather wait for a worthy sequel than see one produced that falls short. Kit Harington, being Jon Snow, wouldn’t refuse a sequel if the perfect concept arises. However, he’s not actively considering it right now; there might be a moment down the line when a story presents itself and feels fitting, but for now, nothing is in the works.

Sophie Turner got Kit Harington on board for her new movie The Dreadful

While I’m immersed in the gaming world, I can’t help but feel a thrill about my upcoming projects. Besides what we’ve previously discussed, I’m teaming up once again with my Game of Thrones comrade, Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark). We’re set to star in a movie titled “The Dreadful,” which the director, Natasha Kermani, describes as a captivating, dark, gothic, and peculiar film. I can hardly wait!

As a gamer, let me share my story: Sophie reached out to me, inviting me to join something she thought would suit me perfectly. With a quick glance, I saw it as an exciting quest and decided to accept her offer on the spot. You know, if a game looks too good to pass up because you just want to click ‘accept’ and start playing, that’s usually a sign of fun times ahead!

As a dedicated fan, I’m excited that HBO and Max will be premiering the third season of Industry this coming Sunday, August 11. However, it seems that Kit Harington, one of my favorite actors, is taking on yet another role where he bares all. In an interview, he jokingly mentioned, “It’s a bit odd… I seem to be getting nude in everything lately.” He’s currently nude in Slave Play on stage, Industry, and The Beast Within. While it might seem unusual, each role had its unique challenges – like filming scenes naked, wearing a large metal collar around his neck, and being surrounded by a group of people while they ate lunch, all in an abandoned church. It’s certainly a different kind of experience!

All right then.
