Kit Connor, known for his roles in Heartstopper and Warfare, will be starring in the new animated Netflix movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The film is based on Roald Dahl’s beloved children’s book.
This sequel to Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator has a surprising new direction: Willy Wonka gets out of prison after being incarcerated for an unusual crime – turning a child into a blueberry.
Fresh out of jail, he goes back to his factory hoping to create something positive and enjoyable. But he quickly discovers a new group of troubled young people who present a challenge.

Charlie Paley, a teen who is not the same Charlie as in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, is the leader of a group of kids all about to lose their homes.
Desperate to save their homes, they’re planning to sneak into the factory and steal a valuable Wonka bar to raise funds.

The factory is a really strange and, more seriously, unsafe location. Have the children taken on a challenge that’s too difficult for them?
Connor portrays the character Charlie Paley, a name that might be a playful reference to the word ‘bucket’. Taika Waititi plays Willy Wonka.

Sony Pictures Imageworks, the studio behind KPop Demon Hunters and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, presents Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The film is directed by Jared Stern, known for The LEGO Batman Movie, and Elaine Bogan, who worked on Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia.
Kit Connor expressed his enthusiasm about joining the new “Wonka” movie. He was particularly drawn to the initial artwork and the directors’ plans to honor the magic of the original story while also bringing a new and original feel to the film.
This really captures the spirit of London as I experience it. Get ready for a surprising and exciting new story – you won’t be disappointed!
