Kirsty Gallacher’s Emotional Marathon Throwback: Heart-Wrenching Inspiration Revealed

On Sunday, Kirsty Gallacher shared a collection of heartfelt pictures reminiscing about her participation in two past London Marathons on her Instagram account.

49-year-old television personality was captured smiling alongside her sons, Oscar (18) and Jude (14), on the Golden Jubilee Suspension Bridge following this year’s charitable run event.

Instead, consider this option: She donned a bright fluorescent orange-and-black tracksuit top paired with black sweatpants and sneakers. With an affectionate embrace, she looped an arm around each of her beaming sons.

Additionally, Kirsty posted a photo of herself in her white, sleeveless marathon shirt with a silver timepiece, in anticipation of the upcoming event.

In another photo, she was spotted with her close companion, Emma Bishop, who bravely battled lung cancer and served as the motivation for her upcoming 2023 race. Tragically, Emma passed away last year.

Additionally, she shared delightful images from the 2019 event, donning a white, sleeveless blouse and capturing moments with two friends while striking poses.

A final snap featured Kirsty flexing her muscles as she raised her medal towards the camera. 

Previously at Sky Sports News, she wrote a heartfelt message detailing how Emma influenced her choice to participate in the race.

Today’s London Marathon was simply amazing, and as I watched it on TV this year, I found myself reminiscing about the two marathons I participated in, specifically in 2019 and 2023.

In support of exceptional charities and unforgettable encounters, but the latter was particularly moving, for @royalmarsden, due to an extraordinary woman, @emsbishop. Emma and I crossed paths early in 2023, and despite her battle with lung cancer, she displayed an incredible spirit!

A remarkable individual who has inspired countless others through her resilience, spirit, and tireless efforts in fundraising. To top it off, she successfully ran the London Marathon, an impressive accomplishment indeed!

I must commend everyone who participated this year! For those who found themselves inspired but unsure, let me encourage you – seize the opportunity and go for it! After all, taking that leap is often what leads to remarkable experiences.

After Kirsty posted charming photos of her former rugby player partner Darren Clayton, aged 38, who accompanied her at work, they were seen together.

They’ve been a couple for approximately a year and five months, having met thanks to their common friends, Gabby and Kenny Logan.

On Tuesday, Kirsty posted photos showing Darren with her at the Global Studios, where she presents the Gold Radio evening program.

As an ardent admirer of yours, Gabby (host of Gold Radio’s The Sports Agents), I couldn’t help but notice your witty remark regarding those images. You truly never fail to entertain us!

Gabby commented, “Darren seems to be styling your ponytail,” along with a smiling emoji, which brought out a laugh from Kirsty.

‘Pulling not putting! If only I’d worn my glasses’ Gabby added, to which Kirsty replied: ‘Haha.’ 

It’s clear that Kirsty has developed strong feelings for Darren, a man who combines the roles of both entrepreneur and athlete, following their initial encounter at a charity event.

Last month, Kirsty contemplated the future, acknowledging that she hadn’t anticipated remarrying after her separation from Paul Sampson. However, the possibility of getting married again might become a reality.

Previously at GB News, the host mentioned to The Sun they occasionally discuss getting married. Interestingly, he seems more enthusiastic about marriage than I am. I tend to question whether it’s necessary.

For him, expressing their union is crucial and saying it out loud matters a lot. I responded, “We can certainly express our commitment. But is getting married necessary as well?

She went on to say: ‘I find engagements incredibly romantic, and for me, that’s all I need. It symbolizes the commitment: “I choose to spend eternity with you.”‘

Yet, Kirsty explicitly stated her openness towards the idea and acknowledged that should Darren choose to marry, she would be on board with it.
