In this updated version, you won’t find a quick travel option or an in-game compass. Your location won’t be marked permanently on the game map anymore.
Should you embark on an intense running spree, you’ll simultaneously encounter unfavorable characteristics and penalties, one of which is “Somnambulant,” a state where you may unexpectedly find yourself waking up in various locations.
Karel Kolmann, the senior game designer, said (via VGC):
“It’s not just about making the game harder either, it’s about making it more immersive too.
In the latest version of our game’s Hardcore Mode, we’ve taken things up a notch compared to the previous one. Now, players have the opportunity to query various NPCs about their location in the game world, making the experience even more engaging. This way, you might encounter fellow travelers on the road and ask them for directions.
