King Pro League (KPL) Spring 2025: Teams, Format, Prize Pool, and more
A few weeks ago, Honor of Kings revealed its esports plan for the year 2025. With the game set to launch this year featuring thrilling events, it seems that one is already on the horizon. The King Pro League (KPL) Spring 2025 has made its appearance with a refreshed design and electrifying MOBA action from the widely-loved title.
The event commences on the 12th of February, 2025, with 18 individuals participating. A substantial prize pool is also set aside for the competitors. Notably, this offline competition unfolds in China.
King Pro League (KPL) Spring 2025: Schedule and Format
Starting from February 12, 2025, this event marks the 18th season of the King Pro League. The main tournament commences with the Group Stage, which is divided into four distinct phases. Here’s a breakdown of each sub-stage:
1. The first sub-stage involves the teams being grouped and playing against each other in round-robin format.
2. The second sub-stage will determine the top two teams from each group, who advance to the next phase.
3. In the third sub-stage, these top teams compete again, but this time within their respective groups for a new ranking.
4. Finally, the top four teams from each group in the third sub-stage qualify for the Knockout Stage, where they’ll face off to determine the season’s champion.

In all stages except for the deciding match, each one will adopt a best-of-five (BO5) series format. Furthermore, every contest will be structured in a single round-robin style.
10 teams will advance to the Playoff phase, which will take place from April 24th to May 4th, 2025. During this timeframe, the competition will be conducted using a double-elimination format. Each game will follow the Best of 7 (BO7) structure. The top two teams will reach the grand finals by progressing through both the upper and lower bracket finals. The ultimate match between these finalists will also be a BO7.
Participant Teams
In Spring 2025, the King Pro League (KPL) will host a total of 18 teams vying for victory. For the second consecutive season, two temporary spots have been added and will be occupied by Qing Jiu Club and Kai Lun Gaming. The reigning champion, AG Super Play, aims to maintain their winning streak this year as well. Here are the participating teams:
1. Qing Jiu Club (new entry)
2. Kai Lun Gaming (new entry)
3. AG Super Play (defending champion)

Prize Pool
Approximately 15 million yen, equivalent to approximately $2,071,000 USD, will be distributed among the teams according to their final rankings in the event.
