King Pro League (KPL) Spring 2025: Teams, Format, Prize Pool, and More
A while ago, Honor of Kings unveiled its competitive gaming plan for 2025. With the game set to launch this year with thrilling competitions, preparations are already underway. The King Pro League (KPL) Spring 2025 is just around the corner, boasting a fresh appearance and exhilarating Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) gameplay from the well-loved title.
The event begins on the 12th of February, 2025, and involves eighteen participants. A substantial prize fund is set aside for the competitors too. Notably, this physical gathering will transpire in China.
King Pro League (KPL) Spring 2025: Schedule and Format
The King Pro League’s 18th season commences in 2025, with the tournament proper initiating during the Group Stage, slated to begin on February 12th. This stage is divided into four distinct phases, and here’s a breakdown of each:
1. Matchday 1: The initial round of games where every team plays one match against another team in their group.
2. Matchday 2: Teams face off again, this time playing against a different opponent from the first round.
3. Matchday 3: A third set of matches, with teams meeting a third opponent within their group, completing the series of games among all teams in the same group.
4. Matchday 4 (or Round Robin): If necessary, this final sub-stage repeats the first three matchdays to ensure that every team has played an equal number of matches against each other team in their group, thus ensuring a fair and comprehensive competition.

In all stages except for the preliminary round (seat decider), each stage will employ a Best of Five series (BO5). Furthermore, every contest will be organized in a single-elimination round-robin format.
As a gamer, I’m excitedly counting down to the Playoffs starting from April 24th to May 4th, 2025. During this period, ten teams will battle it out in a thrilling tournament. The format will be double-elimination, which means even if you lose, you still have a chance to come back. Each match will be best of seven (BO7), ensuring every game is intense and unpredictable. The top two teams will emerge victorious from the upper and lower bracket finals and face off in the grand finals, also a BO7. It’s going to be an epic showdown!
Participant Teams
In Spring 2025, the King Pro League (KPL) will have a grand total of 18 participating teams vying for supremacy. For the second consecutive season, two new temporary slots have been added, and they are assigned to Qing Jiu Club and Kai Lun Gaming. The reigning champion, AG Super Play, aims to maintain their winning streak this year too. Here’s a list of all the teams that will be participating in the event.
Prize Pool
Approximately $2,071,000 in total prize money will be distributed among the teams based on their final positions at the conclusion of the event. The champion’s share will be the largest. At this point, we don’t have specific details about how much each team will receive, but here are some preliminary insights:
1. The top three finishing teams will receive a significant portion of the prize pool.
2. The winning team is expected to take home around 40-50% of the total prize money.
3. The remaining prize money will be divided among the other participating teams, with the exact distribution yet to be determined.
