Kimora Lee Simmons’ ex claps back at her claim she does ‘not have a relationship’ with the fathers of her kids

Russell Simmons publicly disagreed with his ex-wife, Kimora Lee Simmons, after she stated she has no relationship with her children’s fathers.

After Kimora publicly stated he wasn’t involved in their children’s lives, the music executive released a statement on social media. He and Kimora were together for 14 years, married for eight before separating in 2006.

He stated he’s been working to maintain a relationship with his daughters, and that people should consider all perspectives. He also mentioned she had previously warned him he would be cut off from seeing their children.

Russell, 68, and his ex-wife, 50, share two daughters: Ming, 25, and Aoki, 23.

She also has two other children: a 16-year-old son named Kenzo with actor Djimon Hounsou, and a son named Wolfe with former investment banker Tim Leissner.

She’s a mother to two sons: 16-year-old Gary Lee, whom she adopted from Jamaica in 2020, and 19-year-old Jayden, who has been part of the family since fourth grade and she considers a ‘bonus son’.

He publicly addressed Kimora on social media, claiming he supported her with $50,000 each month for two decades, was a close friend, and even acted as godfather to her three children. He alleges she then stole his stock.

He continued: ‘I have been fighting for my kids love and my bread ever since.

He stated that I was threatened with losing contact with my children if I pursued legal action. He also added that there’s another perspective to consider.

This statement follows the mother’s recent comments to People magazine, where she explained that she plays the main parenting role for all six of her children.

She said that while she generally feels she does a decent job co-parenting, her children actually live with her all the time.

She also thanked the strong support system of friends, family, and people her children could always count on, saying they helped her raise her six children.

Honestly, I feel like I do most of the parenting. It’s challenging, and sometimes I really struggle to understand what goes on in other people’s heads – especially men! They just… operate differently, you know?

Even though Ming and Aoki are grown, I think they still see me as their mother, and I’m comfortable with that. They always know they can come to me for anything. They currently live at home, but they also travel extensively and have an apartment in New York.

She also shared that she naturally takes on a caring role, often feeling like a mother figure to those around her. She explained that hearing people confide in her as if she were a mom or a close friend is incredibly rewarding and what truly motivates her.

In 2023, Kimora publicly accused her ex-husband, Russell, of abusive behavior and of making threats against their children, generating significant media attention.

In June, their daughter, Aoki, shared a video online that seemed to show Russell shouting at her.

Aoki said the music executive would threaten her boyfriend and friends if she tried to cut him off on social media or create some distance between them.

Soon after, Kimora used her Instagram Story to support her daughter, claiming Russell was bullying her and their kids.

She explained she was deeply upset to have to take this action, but revealed a man had been threatening her children. She also shared that she was learning more details and refused to be intimidated or live in fear.

She followed up with another post asking him to ‘leave my kids alone.’

The practice of blaming the mother – the sole parent and caregiver – and the children for personal failures or mistakes is over. It’s completely unacceptable and will no longer be tolerated.

Kimora also called him out for allegedly being ‘abusive’ to multiple women, which he has denied.

It’s disheartening to see how you’re treating the women in your life. The threats, lies, and attempts to control them need to stop. Especially considering they are your own family – please, enough is enough.
