At the Deauville American Film Festival held in France on Saturday night, Kim Novak gracefully displayed her everlasting radiance upon her appearance.
At a glamorous event overflowing with celebrities, the 92-year-old actress gracefully received the Icon Award, honoring her exceptional body of work.
Looking radiant, Kim donned a white gown paired with a flowing embellished sheer shawl.
Instead of her brunette hair, she now wore a short bob with blonde strands, opting for a simple approach when it came to styling accessories.
She made an appearance shortly following her return to the public eye, where she was awarded the Golden Lion for a lifetime of accomplishment at the Venice Film Festival.
The honors came after the debut of her latest documentary titled “Kim Novak’s Vertigo,” where she delves into her past struggles with poverty during her upbringing.

The film delves into her life story, focusing on her significant part in Alfred Hitchcock’s movie “Vertigo,” and her transformation from being a popular star to living a secluded artistic life in Oregon.
In casual terms, it could be rephrased as: Kim has mostly avoided being in the spotlight, however, when she does make rare public appearances, people have commented on how much her appearance seems to have changed compared to her earlier days on-screen.
In 2014 at the Oscars, Kim created quite a commotion as her face appeared significantly plumper than usual, leading to a wave of criticisms from spectators.
Even Donald Trump expressed his opinion about her appearance by tweeting: “Kim should take legal action against her cosmetic surgeon!
Kim openly admitted that she was regretful about undergoing facial fat injections, as the results did not meet her expectations.
Additionally, she candidly discussed the unkind nature of Hollywood’s beauty norms and the relentless impact of ageism within the profession.
In a public post on Facebook, responding to criticism following her Oscars appearance this year, Kim stated: ‘I’ve seen the comments hurled at me. I am aware of what Donald Trump and others have said about me, and I won’t shy away from admitting that I’ve had facial fillers.’
She added, “These appeared much less intrusive compared to a facelift. The procedure was performed in 2012 for a TCM interview special. Personally, I believe everyone should have the right to look their best, and I personally feel more confident when I look my best.

Her revealing documentary charts her remarkable life journey – growing up in Chicago during the Great Depression, achieving a decade of Hollywood fame, and subsequently stepping away from the entertainment industry.
She expresses about the disclosures: ‘I’ve felt the urge to unearth the recollections that have been tucked away in the back of my mind.’
Among them are her mother Blanche, who tried to kill her.
In simpler terms, Blanche made an attempt to terminate the baby using knitting needles, but was unsuccessful. Later on, when the baby was still an infant, she tried to suffocate it by covering it with a pillow.
Additionally, she mentioned that her father, Joseph (who she alleged suffered from mental health problems), stored the remains of her deceased infant brother in a jar within the basement of their family house.
In the movie, she expresses that the Great Depression brought about such difficult circumstances. Her mother found herself unable to provide for another child due to financial constraints.
She attempted to terminate my existence using knitting needles, but the attempt was unsuccessful. Undeterred, she then tried to smother me with a pillow.
‘I remember fighting to stay alive. I won, I stayed alive, and made it through.’

She mentioned that it was actually her sister who discovered her brother’s preserved fetus down in the basement, where their father kept his menagerie of creatures – animals and insects included.
‘The foetus, his only son, in the basement. He kept him,’ she said.
Born-and-bred Catholic named Joseph Novak, who hails from Czech ancestry, previously served as an educator prior to the Great Depression. However, following this economic crisis, he shifted his career path and took up a job as a railroad dispatcher instead.
He consistently disavowed her fame, seldom expressed his pride for her achievements, and rarely attended her movie screenings.
Film director Alexandre Phillippe expressed surprise upon receiving a voicemail from Novak detailing these stories. “I let out a breath, and wondered aloud if it was perhaps too grim,” he stated.
He added: ‘It is a privilege to share all these very powerful secrets and memories.’
Novak journeyed from her 13-acre horse ranch in Oregon to accept the honour from the festival.
