Kim Kardashian ‘visits Menendez brothers in prison’ after Erik SLAMMED her pal Ryan Murphy over ‘inaccurate’ Netflix series
As a fervent admirer of empowering narratives, I find myself deeply inspired by Kim Kardashian‘s transformative journey. Her metamorphosis from a global icon to a tenacious advocate for criminal justice reform is nothing short of remarkable.
Recently, Kim Kardashian made an unexpected trip to the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility close to San Diego. During this visit, she encountered Erik and Lyle Menéndez, who gained notoriety for their high-profile murder trial that took place in the 1990s.
Just a day ago, as per reports by TMZ, there was a meeting – a development that occurred not long after Erik publicly voiced his disapproval towards Kardashian’s associate Ryan Murphy and the Netflix series titled Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, which presents a dramatized account of their lives.
Kim Kardashian was joined by her sister Khloe Kardashian and mother Kris Jenner as they interacted with approximately forty inmates, focusing on her continued efforts towards criminal justice reform, according to the source’s report.
Notably, they were joined by actor Cooper Koch, who portrays Erik in the series.
The conversation often centered around Greenspace, a project spearheaded by Lyle, whose goal is to enhance prison courtyards for the purpose of facilitating rehabilitation, as reported by our source.
In 1989, Erik and Lyle were found guilty of a gruesome killing of their parents within their residence in Beverly Hills. Presently, these siblings are incarcerated with lifetime prison terms.
News about the meeting emerged following Erik’s public critique of a miniseries on Lyle’s Facebook page, where he accused Murphy of using ‘offensive’ and ‘obvious falsehoods’ in the series.
Erik’s post started by expressing his belief that we had progressed beyond the deceptive and damaging character depictions of Lyle, constructing a distorted image of him based on the numerous falsehoods prevalent in the show. He could only assume these portrayals were deliberately contrived.
With genuine concern, I find it hard to accept that Ryan Murphy might intentionally misrepresent or distort the truth about our lives, given his apparent lack of accuracy.
In the series, Koch depicts Erik’s character, whereas Nicholas Alexander Chavez enacts Lyle’s role.
Javier Bardem plays their father José Menendez and Chloë Sevigny plays their mother Kitty.
He went on to say: ‘It’s disheartening to see Netflix depicting our crime in a misleading manner. This distorted representation appears to push back the painful truths by several steps – stepping back in time to an age where the prosecution crafted their story based on the outdated belief that men couldn’t be sexually abused and didn’t respond to rape trauma similarly to women.’
On September 19, Monsters made its debut on Netflix, portraying the siblings as pampered youths indulging in extravagant spending following an incident where they allegedly killed their own parents.
In the course of the series, it becomes apparent that both Lyle and Erik had been sexually abused by their parents, a revelation that sheds light on their true reasons for the murders.
Erik emphasized that many courageous individuals, over the past twenty years, have shattered their personal embarrassment to expose and disrupt those dreadful lies by speaking up boldly.
In his writing, Murphy paints a dreadful story using despicable characterizations of Lyle and myself, as well as spreading demoralizing lies about me.
The criticism comes after Murphy first teamed up with Kim for American Horror Story: Delicate, which premiered on September 20, 2023.
In this innovative television show, Kardashian stepped into a significant new acting venture, portraying Siobhan Walsh – a character grappling with the bizarre and unsettling trials of pregnancy.
After her role in American Horror Story, Kim agreed to work on Murphy’s future production, known as an upscale, shiny, and sensual adult investigation series titled All’s Fair.
The television personality will be taking on the role of LA’s prominent divorce attorney, as well as the leader of a female-led law firm, in an upcoming production.
It seems quite appropriate for Kardashian to take on the role of a lawyer, given her real-life ambition to become one. She has already cleared the baby bar exam and is currently studying for the full bar exam.
2017 marked the start of Kim’s passionate pursuit for criminal justice reform, as she vigorously supported Alice Johnson’s case – a woman who was serving a lifetime imprisonment for a non-aggressive drug dealing charge.
Initially, Kardashian reached out to Ivanka Trump to bring attention to Johnson’s case.
This advocacy culminated in a meeting with former President Donald Trump, where she passionately campaigned for Johnson’s clemency.
In June 2018, Kardashian’s persistent efforts culminated in President Trump granting a pardon to Alice Johnson, which subsequently freed her from prison, where she had been incarcerated for over two decades.
Building upon her recent achievements, Kardashian has broadened her activism efforts to support others encountering similar injustices. This includes Kevin Cooper, who’s spent more than three decades on death row, and Julius Jones, a man mistakenly convicted of murder.
Via constant dedication, Kardashian has become a significant figure advocating for criminal justice reform, leveraging her influence to educate people and bring about change within a faulty system that traps many individuals.
In May 2022, while the first season of her family’s show on Hulu, The Kardashians, was airing, Kim recorded the instance when she found out she had successfully passed the baby bar law exam.
In her car alongside her friend and publicist Tracy Romulus, Kardashian accessed her online account to view the outcomes of her third try on the demanding exam.
Her heartfelt disclosure signified a substantial advancement on her path towards being a lawyer, showcasing her resilience and dedication to her legal studies.
In a later interview, she shared that everyone had told her this route was unattainable and I wouldn’t stand a chance of passing the test. But I proved them wrong.
