Additionally, the pantashoe, a footwear trend that gained traction thanks to Kim, has been no exception. At Paris Fashion Week, she didn’t hesitate to showcase not just one but two Balenciaga pantaboot ensembles, making a bold fashion statement.

As a dedicated admirer of Kim Kardashian, I’m eagerly anticipating her new series, “All’s Fair,” set to stream exclusively on Hulu beginning in 2025. Interestingly enough, Kim herself is quite fond of the unique footwear-meets-apparel trend known as pantashoes. These innovative garments combine pants and shoes into a single piece, an intriguing concept that has certainly caught her eye. Recently at this year’s Paris Fashion Week on July 8th, she was spotted donning these divisive items while making her grand entrance at Balenciaga’s French headquarters.

In my ensemble, I opted for a bold look, sporting a vibrant pink halter maxi dress that coordinated with pink pantaboots hidden beneath. The gown boasted a deep neckline, its modesty underscored by a delicate bow at the bust line. I chose to forego any additional adornments, allowing the eye-catching color and my footwear to make a striking statement.

On the following day, which was Wednesday, July 9th, Kim Kardashian was spotted sporting another unique pantashoe ensemble. Specifically, she wore a white, low-cut halter dress that revealed much of her back, and this time, the outfit also included coordinating leggings with built-in heels.

Kim Kardashian warned us that this was coming. She posted a photo of herself in black pantashoes ahead of Balenciaga’s Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2025/2026 show at Paris Fashion Week, writing on Instagram Stories that she’d be “pantabooting the f*ck out of these.” I’d say she followed through, too, giving us two different looks.

The actress from “American Horror Story: Delicate” has confidently embraced the trend of pants with built-in shoes, first appearing in them at NBCUniversal’s Upfronts back in 2017. As reported by our sister site Marie Claire, she’s sported these unique footwear more than fifty times since then.

This design doesn’t appeal to everyone. Some people think it’s modern and stylish, but others have criticized it as being unattractive, awkward, and even garish. (And who hasn’t encountered a bit of discomfort in the name of fashion?)

It’s worth noting that Kim Kardashian isn’t the only celebrity who has tried out the product. Salma Hayek and Julia Fox have been spotted wearing pantashoes, and Blake Lively donned a pricey sports pair that amounted to almost $4,000 when she accompanied Taylor Swift to the Super Bowl in 2024.

The pantaboot, which gained popularity from designer Denma, who served as creative director at Balenciaga, is making a comeback. However, it’s worth noting that in March, he announced his departure from the fashion house, and this Paris Couture Fashion Week appearance was his swan song.
