Kim Kardashian has been sharing details about her life since her split from Kanye West, explaining how the difficulties in their marriage and the subsequent fallout made her feel stuck. She even suggested she once experienced feelings similar to ‘Stockholm syndrome.’
In the first episode of Season 7 of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian, 45, discussed the challenges of dealing with her ex-husband’s public behavior and shielding their four children—North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6—from the resulting drama.
Kim revealed the stress has affected her health. She mentioned she’s experiencing a psoriasis flare-up, something she hasn’t had since her previous divorce.
I was definitely more stressed, likely because I felt a strong need to protect my children, who are now involved in everything,” she explained.
When asked about her ex’s public outbursts, Kim said her immediate concern is always for her children.
‘My poor kids. Everyone around can handle it, but like…protect my babies,’ she said.

My children will learn and mature, and they’ll experience things as they grow up. As their mother, my priority is to keep them safe while they’re going through those experiences.
Kim Kardashian shared that this time, one of her kids realized she was filming—something she’d previously kept hidden from them.
She said it was the first time she believed one of her children understood what was going on. She’d managed to keep it a secret for a long time.
You know, looking back, I realize I used to fall into a pattern where I’d feel strangely protective of people who weren’t treating me well. It’s almost like I’d feel bad for them, and constantly try to fix things or help them, even when it wasn’t healthy for me. I’ve come to understand it was a way of coping, but it definitely wasn’t a sustainable way to live.
This was the first time I didn’t feel like I was to blame. I didn’t have that feeling of, ‘If only I had tried harder, or persevered…’
Daily Mail has not received a response to its request for comment from reps for West.
Stockholm syndrome is a psychological reaction where people who are held hostage or abused start to feel positive emotions towards those who are harming them. This happens as a way to cope with the situation, according to Cleveland Clinic.
Kim explained that although people might think she could easily leave the situation, it’s actually much more complex than that.
People might assume I can just walk away and avoid this person forever, but that’s not possible. We share four children together.

She also pushed back on the constant rumors that she keeps the children from their father.
It’s honestly so frustrating to watch all this online, with everyone saying he’s determined to have the kids. It just doesn’t match up with reality, because he’s never even bothered to call and ask to see them. It’s like he’s saying one thing publicly, but his actions show something completely different, and it’s really confusing for those of us who are following the situation.
It’s frustrating because I’ll often wake up to see false claims on Twitter that I’m keeping the kids from their father. It’s simply not true, and it’s not logical to respond to everything. This is a divorce, not a kidnapping – we haven’t gone anywhere! We still live in the same place, so he knows exactly where the children are.
Kim went on to recall that West once bought a house next door so they could co-parent smoothly.
She asked what happened with the house we’d planned to share for the kids, where we were going to take turns with childcare and school drop-offs.
‘I was like, “Have dinner with us every night.” Let’s have dinner as a family every night.’
She believes that dealing with their breakup might have been difficult for West, but she grew up seeing a similar co-parenting dynamic between Kris Jenner, Caitlyn Jenner, and Robert Kardashian, and that’s the model she’s familiar with.
I was lucky to grow up seeing really positive co-parenting and healthy relationships between both of my parents and my stepfather. That’s just the example I had, and it shaped my view of things.

This episode airs as Kim Kardashian is growing her Hidden Hills estate, with reports she recently bought the property next to her $60 million home.
TMZ reports that Kim Kardashian, who celebrated her 45th birthday on Tuesday, recently purchased a $7 million home. The 5,000-square-foot property includes four bedrooms, five bathrooms, multiple fireplaces, and a spa.
The property boasts beautiful, expansive views and is conveniently located right next to the area’s picturesque horse trails.
Kim is expanding her property, and this recent purchase is a significant part of that growth. Her estate currently covers three acres.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West purchased the Hidden Hills home in 2014 for $20 million and spent several years renovating it into a very minimalist style.
West collaborated with Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt and skilled architects to create the now-renowned, minimalist white interior design.
Following their separation in 2021, Kim took full ownership of the house and paid Kanye West $23 million for it – $20 million for the property and $3 million for everything inside.
