Kim Kardashian reveals status of friendship with Ivanka Trump 2 months after she slammed President’s ICE raids

Kim Kardashian has revealed the status of her friendship with First Daughter Ivanka Trump.

It has not been easy going between 45-year-old Kardashian and the Trump clan in recent months.

In late August, the reality TV personality publicly criticized her father, President Donald Trump, for his actions involving ICE raids.

But all seems to be kosher between the unlikely pals these days.

Kim Kardashian used her Instagram Stories to wish a happy birthday to a friend, posting an old photo of the two of them together. She wrote, ‘Happy birthday to the kindest, smartest woman I know.’

‘I hope you are celebrating big! LOVE YOU! This will always be one of my favorite pics of us.’

Trump also shared a birthday message for Kim, posting a sweet Instagram note on October 21st wishing her a happy 45th birthday and saying ‘Love you birthday queen’.

Kim and Ivanka have been friends for quite a while, and their bond grew even stronger when they started collaborating on efforts to improve the prison system.

I remember when these two first met – it was back in 2014 at the Met Gala! Apparently, they really connected over sharing experiences as mothers. It was the start of a beautiful connection, built on something so relatable.

According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly in 2023, Kim and Ivanka have been friends for many years and have spent time together often. Their friendship began almost ten years ago at the Met Gala, where they connected over the challenges and joys of being new mothers, and they’ve remained in touch ever since.

These women have been friends for about ten years and have been seen together many times. Most recently, they attended the lavish wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez in Venice, Italy. Back in 2018, they were photographed together at the White House when Kim Kardashian was asking President Trump to release Alice Marie Johnson, who was serving a life sentence for a drug offense.

The two women collaborated to shorten or eliminate prison sentences, and Kim frequently shared details with Ivanka during dinners at her home.

By 2020, the reality star was publicly praising Ivanka Trump’s father online. She posted on X (formerly Twitter) about President Trump commuting the sentences of three women, noting that the news hadn’t received much coverage and she wanted to share their stories.

I’m delighted to be spending the day with these incredible women, including Alice Marie Johnson, who played a key role in selecting them.

Two months ago, Kim Kardashian faced criticism from the US Department of Homeland Security. This came after she publicly criticized President Trump’s immigration raids, even though she has a friendly relationship with the President, his wife Melania, and his daughter Ivanka.

The successful businesswoman, recently finishing law school, publicly criticized the 79-year-old New Yorker while in Venice.

Kardashian explained that the news often focuses on criminals supposedly helping the country, while simultaneously ignoring the struggles of those who have actually built and contributed to it.

Okay, so, like, I’m totally following this drama, and now Tricia McLaughlin – she’s with Homeland Security, can you believe it? – she’s basically responding to Kim Kardashian after Kim spoke out against those raids. It’s like, Kim called them out, and now this official is firing back! I’m living for it, honestly. It’s just…wow.

According to McLaughlin, Ms. Kardashian doesn’t understand the situation in Los Angeles and is speaking about it without having a full grasp of the facts.

During President Trump and Secretary Noem’s time leading Homeland Security, authorities removed dangerous criminals from the streets of Los Angeles, including those who committed murder, rape, gang violence, and child exploitation.

As a longtime follower, I was really struck by her question – why does Kim Kardashian keep helping people who’ve done wrong, seemingly ignoring the harm it causes to everyday Americans and those who risk their lives to protect us?

Kim Kardashian has spent years advocating for the release of prisoners and is currently studying to be a lawyer, just like her father, Robert Kardashian, who was a key member of O.J. Simpson’s defense team.

During Donald Trump’s presidency, she went to the Oval Office to advocate for the FIRST STEP Act, a law reforming the criminal justice system. Trump eventually signed it into law, leading to the early release of many incarcerated individuals.

In June, Kardashian publicly criticized Trump’s policies on immigration in Los Angeles, describing ICE’s methods as ‘inhumane.’ She spoke in support of the families being separated and highlighted the contributions of these hardworking individuals.

Okay, so Kim recently shared something online that didn’t quite land with everyone, and honestly, I can see why. Some fans called her out for what they felt was ‘virtue signaling’ – basically, appearing to care about an issue just for show – especially considering her past connections to the Trump family. It’s a tricky situation, and it highlights how easily good intentions can be misinterpreted when your public persona is already so scrutinized.

Kim has a close friendship with Ivanka Trump, age 43, and previously met with Donald Trump at the White House to talk about changes to the criminal justice system when he first ran for president.

Kim Kardashian reaffirmed her position on the issue when questioned about Donald Trump’s ICE raids on Thursday. This happened while she was at the DVF Awards in Venice, Italy, where she received an award for her work on prison reform.

She explained to Variety that the news often focuses on criminals supposedly helping the country, while overlooking the hard work of those who actually built it and the impact on long-standing members of the community. She shared this thought before receiving an award.

We think about protecting the people we care about – our friends and family. But sometimes, it feels like the support and safety we expect just aren’t there when we really need them.

It’s a difficult situation, but we need to do everything we can to protect those who have supported and built our nation,” Kim stated.

During the same interview, Kim discussed whether she would again work with the White House on prison reform, as she did several times during Trump’s first term. She also addressed the possibility of advocating for the Menendez brothers, who were recently denied parole after serving over thirty years for the 1989 murder of their parents.

Kim told Variety that she ‘would love to.’

Since the Menendez brothers are incarcerated in a state prison, the governor ultimately decides about their case. However, I would appeal to any president or administration to advocate for individuals I believe deserve help, she stated.

In June, Kim shared her initial reaction to the ICE raids in Los Angeles—ordered by President Trump and leading to demonstrations and unrest in Downtown LA—on her Instagram Story.

The announcement about Kim’s work as an attorney followed shortly after she publicly criticized President Trump’s recent ICE raids.

Kim stated she supports the idea of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) if its purpose is to protect the country and deport dangerous criminals.

When we see good, honest people being separated from their loved ones cruelly, we can’t stay silent. We must stand up for what is just.

Kim explained that having grown up in Los Angeles, she’s always been aware of the significant contributions immigrants have made to the city’s culture and community.

‘They are our neighbors, friends, classmates, coworkers, and family.

Regardless of your political views, it’s obvious that immigrants help our communities flourish. We shouldn’t ignore the fear and unfair treatment that prevent people from living safe and fulfilling lives.

‘There HAS to be a BETTER way.’

Tricia McLaughlin, a high-ranking official at the Department of Homeland Security, addressed the reality star’s comments by reaffirming the Trump administration’s claim that recent ICE actions in Los Angeles are focused on individuals with criminal convictions.

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro’s wife, @KimKardashian, posted on X (formerly Twitter) asking which of four individuals arrested by ICE – whom she described as convicted of crimes like child molestation, murder, drug trafficking, and rape – Kardashian would prefer to have remain in the country.

Over the past three days, authorities have arrested several individuals with prior criminal convictions who were engaged in illegal activities.

Kim has officially completed the requirements to become a lawyer, fulfilling a long-held goal inspired by her late father, Robert Kardashian.

Kim Kardashian took the California bar exam in late July and is waiting for her results, which will be released privately on November 7th. The public will be able to access the results on November 9th at 6pm Pacific Time, according to TMZ.

The California bar exam is known as the most difficult in the country, and historically, very few people pass it. The exam takes two days to complete.

Usually, the exam is given in person at a specific testing center. However, people believe Kim took her test privately with a supervisor present to avoid any leaks about it.

Kim faced a challenging assessment that included 200 multiple-choice questions, a 90-minute practical test, and five hour-long essays, according to reports.

Kim hasn’t said publicly who she voted for in the 2024 Presidential election, which Donald Trump won against Kamala Harris.
