Kim Kardashian made light of not passing the bar exam in a funny commercial for her new energy drink, Update.
The TV personality, 45, recently honored her grandmother, Mary Jo Campbell, who passed away. In a video posted to Instagram on Thursday, she jokingly referenced her past struggles with the same test.
The reality star first took the bar exam in July 2025, and later revealed she hadn’t passed.
In the video, Kardashian is shown sitting in a transparent box that looks like it’s inside a museum.
People strolled by without much notice, but then a woman stopped and asked aloud, “Has she actually passed the bar exam?”
The opera music stopped abruptly when the mother of four turned to face the other woman and said with confidence, “No, I didn’t pass the bar – I raised it.”
Kardashian started writing again, using a notebook alongside piles of documents and folders. An Update energy drink sat on top of everything.
The advertisement started with the celebrity walking up to a podium for a press conference.
Okay, let me tell you about this look! She was rocking a seriously chic all-black outfit – think sleek leather from head to toe. It had a really daring, low neckline and she topped it off with these fabulous black sunglasses. Total confidence boost right there!
The actress said people constantly ask her about her accomplishments, then paused for effect as she took off her sunglasses.
She then stared directly into the camera to add, ‘Not that kind of work.’
With cameras flashing around her in the crowded auditorium, Kim Kardashian addressed the audience, repeating the questions she often gets: “How do you manage to do everything? How do you stay motivated? And are your curves natural?”
The camera rapidly focused on her as she started to drink an Update beverage. She said with a smile, “I really have a lot of energy right now.”
Reporters questioned the celebrity, asking her why she was chosen for the role. Her response was a playful, ‘I didn’t realize there were other options.’
Someone asked Kim why she was making this change, and she explained that caffeine wasn’t giving her the energy she needed, but she’s a dedicated worker.

The beverage was brought back to market in February and can now be found at Walmart locations and on Amazon.
According to the official website, the update is designed with a key ingredient called paraxanthine, forming the foundation of its functionality.
