Kim, you’re not doing amazing, sweetie.
Kim Kardashian, who is no stranger to conspiracy theories, has publicly supported a popular one—despite the fact that it’s been proven false.
In the latest episode of Hulu’s “The Kardashians,” Kim Kardashian shared her surprising belief that the 1969 moon landing was faked. She even tried to convince her co-star, Sarah Paulson, to agree with her.

Business
As a space film buff, I’m really following the news about the upcoming moon landings, and it’s interesting to see NASA shake things up with the SpaceX contract. Apparently, they’re opening it up to other companies now. It seems like the big worry is that we don’t want to be second to China in getting people back on the lunar surface, so they’re making sure all options are explored to get there first.
Kardashian told Paulson that she had already sent over a million interviews featuring both Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong.
“Yes, do it,” Paulson told the Skims founder, promising to go on her own “massive deep dive.”
Kardashian recently mentioned a popular TikTok interview where someone claimed Buzz Aldrin, a member of the Apollo 11 mission with Neil Armstrong and Michael Collins, accidentally revealed the moon landing was faked. The idea is that the famous video of the landing was actually shot in a studio.
Kardashian believes the moon landing didn’t occur, and suggested that Aldrin, now 95 years old, has difficulty speaking clearly due to age.

Entertainment & Arts
Following a defamation lawsuit filed by Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner, Ray J reaffirmed his allegations of a potential RICO investigation, posting on social media a cryptic message saying, ‘The rain is coming.’
Hours after the episode dropped, NASA Acting Administrator Sean Duffy fact-checked the socialite.
Duffy responded to Kim Kardashian on X (formerly Twitter), pointing out that the US has landed on the Moon six times already. He also highlighted NASA’s Artemis program, led by President Biden, which is planning a return trip.
“We won the last space race and we will win this one too,” Duffy wrote.
I recently read a Reuters article from 2022 that actually explained a lot about some of the claims made about Buzz Aldrin. It turns out a really popular video clip people were using to suggest something was wrong with his story had been seriously taken out of context. It was good to see that clarified.
In a brief clip, Conan O’Brien tells Aldrin about remembering watching the first moonwalk with his family when he was a kid.
Aldrin disagreed with O’Brien’s story at first. But he later explained that while the actual moon landing happened, the footage shown on television wasn’t real – it was animated.

The National Air and Space Museum shared that a $2.3 million camera was used on the mission to take the pictures transmitted back to Earth.
Even so, Kardashian firmly repeated her view when a producer on “The Kardashians” asked her about it more directly.
“For the record, you think that we didn’t walk on the moon?” the producer asked.
Kardashian stated she doesn’t believe the moon landing happened, suggesting it was staged. She mentioned seeing multiple videos where Buzz Aldrin supposedly questions the event as well.
“Why does Buzz Aldrin say it didn’t happen?” she said. “There’s no gravity on the moon. Why is the flag blowing? The shoes that they have in the museum that they wore on the moon is a different print in the photos. Why are there no stars?”
Want to convince a conspiracy theory believer they’re wrong? Don’t start with the truth
Those drawn to conspiracy theories about the Trump assassination or QAnon aren’t necessarily focused on facts; they’re often searching for a sense of meaning and community.
The moon does have gravity, though it’s about one-sixth as strong as Earth’s. That’s why astronauts appeared to bounce when they walked on the moon, instead of floating away. There’s no wind on the moon, and NASA knew this beforehand. You can actually see a rod holding the American flag up in some footage, because it wouldn’t wave without a breeze. And just to be clear, Buzz Aldrin never said the moon landing didn’t happen – we’ve already pointed that out.
Kardashian wisely acknowledged that no matter what she did, people would likely criticize her anyway.
She also suggested people check TikTok for themselves. However, it’s worth noting that the accounts often pushing the moon landing hoax are usually involved in spreading other false ideas, such as the belief that the Earth is flat or that aliens constructed the pyramids.
