An Australian fashion stylist has criticized Kim Kardashian’s walk during the Balenciaga catwalk show, joining many online commenters in expressing their disapproval of her runway performance.

On Wednesday, Chris Kontos, a prominent figure in Australia’s fashion world, subtly criticized the business tycoon who rose to fame through reality TV, using Instagram as his platform.

In the video, Chris appeared puzzled while the tune of “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes was audible in the background.

He penned, ‘The scene around Kim Kardashian is’, over the video where ‘What’s happening?’ could be heard playing in the backdrop.

He added: ‘FYI I have influenza A in bed & this isn’t helping.’

People are widely making fun of Kim due to her clumsy stride on the runway, with spectators chuckling that she seemed ‘intoxicated’ or ‘tired like a toddler.’

Kris Jenner, Kim’s mom, shared a video with pride, showing Kim strutting her stuff on the runway during Balenciaga’s Paris Fashion Week performance – marking Demna Gvasalia’s last show as the brand’s designer.

However, unlike her supermodel sibling Kendall Jenner who gracefully commands the runway, Kim’s act drew peals of laughter from the audience instead.

One enthusiast jumped into the comments and addressed Kendall, saying: ‘Could you lend a hand to your sibling?’ Meanwhile, another chuckled: ‘Come on Kim, give us something!’

One Instagram user humorously commented on Kim, who was 44 years old, saying, “This is how I stroll around after having two margaritas, and I’m trying to blend in while secretly being tipsy.

Moving quietly towards the restroom following a meal at Taco Bell,” said one person, while another humorously likened her to “me stumbling sleepwalkingly from the bathroom back to my bed at 4 am.

A spectator made a witty comment, saying, ‘She’s quite lovely, yet seems to be a weary housewife, perhaps a bit tipsy from too much sherry, stepping out to answer the door.’

In a post on Instagram, Kris shared that her daughter donned earrings from Lorraine Schwartz’s exclusive collection – the very diamonds that belong to Elizabeth personally.

Despite not becoming an official Balenciaga ambassador until last year, Kim has had a deep connection with the brand for quite some time and counts Demna as both a friend and an admirer.

She went to the 2021 Met Gala wearing an all-black Balenciaga outfit designed by Demna, which became well-known for covering her entire head, even her face.

In 2023, when Balenciaga unveiled their contentious ad campaign featuring kids, Kim was among those who faced criticism and public disapproval.

Certain images depicted kids carrying teddy bear-themed handbags adorned with accessories reminiscent of bondage attire, giving the impression of such a style.

As an ardent admirer, I found myself right smack in the middle of the storm when Kim, despite being absent from the campaign, still became the focal point of intense criticism due to her previous ties with the brand.

Amid growing discomfort, I felt compelled to publicly express my distress and indignation over the images that surfaced during this campaign. The scenes left me feeling disgusted and outraged.

She’s reassessing her ties with the brand, considering their readiness to acknowledge responsibility for an incident that never ought to have transpired in the first place, and the steps she anticipates they will take to safeguard children. However, she decided to maintain her association with the fashion house.
