Kim and Kris’s attorney, Alex Spiro, released a statement to Daily Mail claiming Ray J’s recent actions are a desperate attempt to distract from the fact that he’s losing the case. Spiro believes Ray J will ultimately lose this lawsuit, which he considers to be without merit.
Court records show Ray J claims he and Kim Kardashian filmed a sex tape together in 2003 with both their consent. Years later, in 2006, they talked about releasing it, and Kim reportedly wanted her mother, Kris Jenner, to handle the release and any profits made from the tape.
Ray J’s lawyer, Howard King, filed a lawsuit alleging that Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner falsely claimed for twenty years that the sex tape featuring Ray J and Kim was leaked without her consent.
Kim and Kris sued Ray J last month, claiming he damaged their reputation by falsely stating the family was being investigated by the federal government.

In a recently popular livestream, he stated he would reveal damaging information, but didn’t specify what his ex-girlfriend and her family allegedly did.
In a video shared online, he claimed his former partner and her family were involved in criminal activity, specifically a racketeering conspiracy. He stated he was preparing to publicly reveal details, suggesting it would generate significant media attention and involve serious accusations.
He warned anyone friendly with Kim that federal authorities were investigating her and that he couldn’t intervene. He urged them to inform her immediately.
He later made a dramatic comparison, saying his unproven accusations were even more serious than those surrounding Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, despite continuing to support Combs in the case.
In a lawsuit filed Wednesday, the Kardashians and Jenners accuse Ray J of being unable to move on from his brief relationship with Kim Kardashian over two decades ago. They claim he has consistently tried to benefit from their fame for his own personal advantage.
This situation stems from Ray J’s recent and harmful false statements: he told millions of people on social media that the plaintiffs are being investigated for racketeering as part of a federal criminal case.
Ray J’s recent public claims are demonstrably untrue. There is no federal investigation into racketeering allegations against Kim Kardashian or Kylie Jenner, and no law enforcement agency is pursuing any criminal case or investigation related to these claims. Furthermore, there is absolutely no reliable evidence to support these accusations.
These claims were presented as established facts regarding current federal criminal cases, and were not offered as guesses or personal beliefs.
As a longtime observer, I was really disturbed by Ray J’s public claims about a criminal investigation. He just put these serious accusations out there without even bothering to check if they were true with the police – who would have immediately confirmed there was no investigation! It feels incredibly irresponsible and, frankly, like he didn’t care at all about the truth, especially considering the legal standards around making such claims.
He repeatedly made claims without any proof, relying on unsupported statements and accusations. This shows a clear disregard for the truth and a deliberate attempt to damage the Plaintiffs’ reputations.
According to Alex Spiro, the lawyer representing Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian, they’ve never filed a defamation lawsuit before and typically don’t respond to rumors. However, he stated that this particular false and damaging claim forced them to take legal action.
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Ray J for comment and has yet to hear back.
Earlier in the year, Ray J mentioned the Kardashians during a discussion about Sean Combs’s legal case in the Tubi documentary, “United States V Sean Combs: Inside the Diddy Trial,” on TMZ.
He disputed the accusations against Combs, but suggested the reality TV family was actually to blame.
He admitted he wouldn’t be surprised to learn the Kardashians were facing racketeering charges, saying he’d believe it if he heard it.

He said it was the most damaging thing anyone had ever associated with his name. He described it as appalling, unlawful, and particularly upsetting given that he has a daughter.
Ray J and Kardashian were previously in a relationship nearly two decades ago.
Their romance was confirmed and went public in 2007 when their infamous sex tape was leaked.
