How Much Did AI Get Right About Kim Coates?
AI Gets Coats To Reveal “The Best Decision” He Made
The opening scene of Coates’ Debunking AI featured an unusual event: the AI outsmarted him, or perhaps just caught up with him on the subject of his middle name, Frederick. Coates admitted, “Indeed, that’s accurate, but I had always believed it meant ‘Kim Fing Coates’ – a misconception I held for years and years.” The AI correctly identified Coates’ hometown as Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, and his educational background, revealing that he took up acting after enrolling in a drama class at school. However, the AI made an error when it tried to guess Coates’ first acting role.
Coates corrected the AI when it suggested his first acting gig was in ‘The Boy in Blue’ movie. Instead, his initial acting role was in a play named ‘The Lottery.’ The AI also mistook Coates for being skilled in violin and bass guitar, but he admitted that although he had played both instruments, he hasn’t touched them since finishing roles requiring him to do so.
AI prompted reflections from Coates about his tenure on ‘Sons of Anarchy’. Contrary to speculation that it was his favorite character, Coates stated, “I don’t have any favorites,” but he did admit that at first, he declined the role of Tig due to the character being “extremely psychotic and unhinged.” However, showrunner Kurt Sutter convinced him by assuring that Tig would eventually serve as “the moral compass of the club.” Coates further expressed that accepting this role turned out to be one of the best decisions he ever made.
Kim Coates Teases His The Walking Dead: Dead City Appearance
Coates Plays A New Character Named Brugal
In an interview, Coates discussed his upcoming character in “The Walking Dead: Dead City” season 2. He confirmed that his role is Brugal, a shrewd, ruthless, and intricate leader of a faction in post-apocalyptic Manhattan. Coates agreed with the AI’s description of Brugal as a formidable adversary to both Maggie and Negan, but emphasized that his challenges are primarily aimed at Negan.
Coates added that “He’s more like a complicated friend of Negan,” and elaborated by saying, “Eli Jorné did an exceptional job writing season two, giving me ample room to develop this character. I infused a lot of humor into him, I believe. I hope you’ll enjoy… He was a joy to portray. Just wait until you see my costume!
Coates suggests that it’s not far from the truth that Brugal was tailor-made for him. He explained that Eli himself contacted him directly after discussions between his agents and managers. Coates added that he was eager to read the script and, having done so with episodes one and four, promptly agreed to take on the role, saying, “Where do I sign?
Coates continued by expressing his awe at stepping into the realm of zombies, which felt completely distinct from his experiences on Sons of Anarchy, American Primitive, or any other projects he’s worked on or will work on.
