Killing Time: Resurrected Gets New Gameplay, Launches for Xbox Next Week
As a seasoned gamer who’s journeyed through the annals of gaming history, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgic excitement at the announcement of Killing Time: Resurrected. This game, with its intriguing blend of DOOM-like action and The 7th Guest-esque puzzle-solving, was a cult classic back in my day on the 3DO and PC.
Specialists Nightdive Studios and publisher Ziggurat Interactive have revealed that they’re set to release ‘Killing Time: Resurrected’, a high-definition remaster of the iconic horror ‘boomer shooter’ from 1995, which was initially available on the 3DO and PC. This exciting revamp will be hitting stores next week.
As a fervent admirer might put it, Killing Time – often affectionately called the offspring of DOOM and The 7th Guest – whisks me away to the opulent world of the 1930s as an ex-Egyptology student. Caught within the grandiose estate of Tess Conway, a wealthy heiress, I find myself in a race against time when her ritual for eternal life goes horribly awry, causing her high-society peers to mysteriously disappear.
Your task involves locating and dismantling the enigmatic Egyptian Water-Clock while reversing the spell cast upon it. However, this mission requires confronting an army of spectral terrors, revived in stunning detail as advanced sprites. The game’s landscapes have been enhanced, making them more vivid, the gameplay is streamlined, and the controls are now more sensitive to your touch.
Additional content has been reinstated for the game “Killing Time: Resurrected,” such as the pool house, a shipwreck, various antiquities, and fifty live-action video clips. These elements will be displayed in stunning 4K resolution across multiple platforms like Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 17th.
