Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair Tops Streaming Chart After Digital Debut

The martial arts film is quickly becoming a hit with streaming audiences. After launching on the platform, it rose to the top of the Apple TV Store charts, becoming a popular choice worldwide within just one day of its release.

According to Flix Patrol data as of February 18th, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is still among the top 10 most-watched films on the platform in the United States, currently ranking seventh. The film is also performing well internationally, reaching fourth place in Australia, ninth in Canada, and second place in both Ireland and the United Kingdom.

This film combines Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 with previously unseen footage. It follows Beatrix Kiddo, nicknamed ‘The Bride,’ a skilled mercenary on a mission to avenge the murder of her family and a brutal attempt on her life and that of her unborn child, all orchestrated by her vengeful ex-lover, Bill, and his team of assassins, the Deadly Viper Assassin Squad.

The movie features Uma Thurman, who received a BAFTA award and a Golden Globe nomination for her role as a former assassin, along with a strong supporting cast including Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, and David Carradine, who plays the character of Bill.

Originally shown at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair had very few screenings over the next two decades. Despite only earning $6.3 million in theaters, the nearly four-and-a-half-hour film was praised by both viewers and critics.

Currently, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair has a perfect 100% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 98% audience score. Reviewers and viewers alike are praising the film’s energy, the added scenes, and a fresh look at Uma Thurman’s performance.

A Singular Kill Bill Movie Was ‘Always’ In The Cards, According To Uma Thurman

Before Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair came out in theaters last year, Uma Thurman explained that the movie combined two films into a single, complete feature, even though it resulted in a longer runtime.

I heard from Thurman that the movie actually started as just one film, but it became so massive and detailed during production, it naturally split into two parts! He was joking around on The Today Show saying we might need some good back support in the theater because it’s going to be a four-hour movie. But honestly, that’s because the director always wanted to present the complete, original story as a whole – and now we’re finally going to get it!
