The Uber driver claims Kiefer Sutherland punched him multiple times and attempted to choke him during an incident earlier this month, leading to Sutherland’s arrest.
Okay, so everyone’s talking about him and this whole thing, and honestly, I’ve been glued to updates! Apparently, the police haven’t even officially sent anything to the District Attorney’s office yet, even though he’s 59 years old and everyone’s wondering if he’ll be charged. The Daily Mail said it’s still just sitting with the LAPD – they haven’t even seen a case file! It’s so frustrating, I just need to know what’s happening!
As a lifestyle expert, I’m following this story closely, and sources are telling me we can likely expect charges to be filed sometime next month. It seems the Emmy-winning actor already has a court date set for February 2nd, so things are definitely moving forward.
According to sources at ABC News, the Uber driver stated he exited his vehicle to avoid an encounter with a man, later identified as Sutherland. Witnesses told police Sutherland seemed impaired during the interaction.
According to sources, the Uber driver called 911 while fleeing from the actor. Dashcam footage from the driver’s car may provide more details about the incident.
Daily Mail has reached out to reps for Sutherland and Uber for further comment on the story.

According to the Daily Mail, Sutherland was arrested in Los Angeles on January 12th following an incident that happened near Hollywood, around the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.
Police arrested Sutherland after he allegedly attacked the driver and entered their vehicle without permission. The arrest was related to suspected felony criminal threats.
No one had injuries that necessitated medical treatment in the violent exchange, authorities said.
Kiefer Sutherland, known for his roles in shows like 24 and Designated Survivor, was released on a $50,000 bond.
Kiefer Sutherland has starred in beloved films like “A Few Good Men” and “Stand by Me,” both directed by Rob Reiner. He recently honored Reiner with an Instagram post following the tragic deaths of the director and his wife, Michele.
Kiefer expressed his sadness upon learning about Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele. He described Rob as one of the nicest people he’s ever worked with.
He gave me a life-changing opportunity when I was young, and I’ll always be thankful for it.

Honestly, it’s just… typical. This latest thing with the police? It’s sadly become a pattern with him over the last forty years. It feels like every few years there’s another story, another little scandal. I try not to let it bother me, but it’s hard when you’re such a huge fan and you see these things keep popping up. It’s just… part of the legend, I guess.
In January 2008, Sutherland was released from jail after serving 48 days for a DUI conviction.
When he was released from jail after almost two months, Los Angeles police Officer John Balian told People magazine that the actor ‘seemed happy to be free’.
While in jail, Sutherland was assigned to laundry duty, where he washed sheets, pillowcases, and blankets, according to the police officer.
Sutherland was a model prisoner during his time at the facility, Balian said.
‘He was very humble, never complained,’ the officer said. ‘He didn’t give us any problems at all.’
In October 2007, Sutherland pleaded no contest to driving under the influence following an incident in September. As a result, he was sentenced to 30 days in jail.
After Sutherland violated his probation stemming from a 2004 drunk driving arrest, the court extended his sentence by 18 days.
After reaching a plea agreement, Sutherland stated he was truly sorry for his mistakes.

Okay, so he said he was disappointed, but honestly, it’s like he’s downplaying everything! He called it ‘poor judgment,’ which… seriously? It felt way bigger than that! I just want him to understand how much this bothers me, and take real responsibility. It’s like he’s trying to brush it off, and it’s killing me! He needs to acknowledge how bad it was, not just say he’s ‘disappointed’!
Kiefer Sutherland expressed his sincere apologies for the upset and hardship this situation has caused his family, friends, and colleagues at both the show ’24’ and 20th Century Fox.
He expressed his gratitude for the personal and professional support he’s received over the past few weeks.
Sutherland completed his jail time at the Glendale City Jail instead of the downtown Los Angeles facility, understanding this meant he wouldn’t be released early as part of the agreement.
As part of a court agreement, Sutherland was placed on probation for five years. He also had to complete an 18-month alcohol education program and attend weekly therapy sessions for six months.
Kiefer Sutherland, whose father, the famous actor Donald Sutherland, has passed away, has been arrested several times, with the earliest incidents occurring in the 1980s.
According to the Los Angeles Times and court documents, the actor – who was born in England and grew up in Canada – was arrested in Los Angeles in 1989 for reckless driving under the influence of alcohol and possessing a gun.
I was really relieved to hear that Sutherland didn’t have to face the weapons charge. He did, however, enter a no-contest plea for the reckless driving related to alcohol, which I understand is a serious offense, but better than everything he was initially facing.

In 1993, Sutherland was arrested once more for driving recklessly while under the influence of alcohol, and he pleaded no contest to the charges.
He was sentenced to 200 hours of community service in connection with the offense.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always found it fascinating how people navigate life’s challenges. For years, Sutherland seemed to be doing just that, staying out of the public eye and avoiding any major issues. However, in 2004, he faced a setback with an arrest related to driving under the influence. It just goes to show, even those who appear to be on the right track can stumble.
He accepted a court-supervised treatment program and a five-year probation period, related to an arrest in 2007.
The actor spoke about his incarceration while appearing on Late Night With David Letterman in 2008.
Have you ever arrived at a vacation destination and found it wasn’t what the brochures promised? Prison isn’t like that at all. It’s exactly as you’d expect – no surprises.
