Kid Kapichi in Shock Split as Two Key Members Quit—Fans Left Heartbroken
The British rock group Kid Kapichi has parted ways following the unexpected departure of members Ben Beetham (guitarist) and George Macdonald (drummer) from the band.
Supporters are heartbroken as Ben and George shared on Instagram that they’ve chosen to move forward individually.
For more than ten years, this duo had been an integral part of the band, contributing significantly to their unique sound and assisting in their ascension within the British rock music industry.
The band announced that they plan to devote all their energy towards new ventures following a decade and a half of collaboration.
With deep regret, we’re announcing our separation from Kapichi, who has been not just a band, but a family and a brotherhood that held a pivotal place in our lives for the past 12 years.
In simpler terms, if you dedicate the necessary energy and focus to a band or project, there won’t be much time left for other activities. This is especially true when exploring new territories and giving your best to something novel. In such cases, it’s fairer to the project to let it continue without you rather than splitting your efforts and potentially providing less than it deserves.

‘For quite some time now, the four of us have been connected through this band, but it’s not just the band that binds us; we also cherish a friendship, a shared history, a common sense of community, and so much more. As our musical journey together comes to an end, these deeper connections continue to thrive.’
Lead vocalist Jack Wilson and bassist Eddie Lewis have pledged to continue, yet clarified that the band as fans are familiar with is no longer in existence.
They announced separately that after spending the last ten years with Kid Kapichi, Ben and George have made the tough choice to leave the band.
We’ve felt every peak and trough as part of this project team, and no one can diminish the triumphs we’ve celebrated side by side.
However, it seemed like the perfect moment for them to venture into uncharted territories. We send them our warmest wishes and are confident that our bond will endure as we embark on this fresh journey together.
Nevertheless, this is just the beginning. Jack and Eddie embark on a fresh chapter of their journey in Kapichi, bringing along renewed vigor, innovative thoughts, and a refreshed outlook. Keep an eye out for further updates on this exciting development!
They additionally promised fans, “Kid Kapichi isn’t over yet. With open arms, we embrace this new phase, charging ahead into these thrilling, novel times with rekindled energy and fervor.
Before parting in different directions, the founding four will unite for a heartfelt farewell concert as a group.

It is set to take place on July 12, at the 1,000-capacity De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-Sea.
Ben and George mentioned, “It seems fitting to conclude this chapter by embarking on another musical journey together and rejoicing again where it all began.
Let’s honor the conclusion of an epoch we’ve experienced together, while also rejoicing in the advent of a fresh chapter for Kapichi, filled with every ounce of prosperity we anticipate it to have.
From deep within, we express our heartfelt gratitude to every fan, friend, and family member who has been by our side throughout this incredible journey. It’s been one wild ride! And a big thank you goes out to Jack and Eddie for understanding and supporting this decision so positively.
Enthusiasts expressed their sorrow in the comments section, yet they also extended good wishes to the group for their future endeavors.
They expressed that they are truly disappointed to learn that Ben and George are departing, but they’re incredibly thrilled about the prospects that lie ahead for everyone. Wishing you the best of fortune gentlemen!
As a devoted admirer, let me express my heartfelt wish for your ongoing success! The opportunity to experience the authentic Kapichi dynamic in Texas has left an indelible mark on me, and I eagerly anticipate all the wonderful music you’ll continue to create.
‘So sad to hear this! Relieved the band will move forward though!;
I’m truly disappointed for you all 💔💔💔 Here’s to hoping for a new phase of the dynamic duo between Kapichi, Jack, and Eddie, with a sound reminiscent of Nova Twins or Royal Blood.

Wow, it’s great to see George and Ben taking care of themselves. Still, I can’t help but feel a sense of melancholy. Your energetic encounters with them were truly enjoyable. On the other hand, I’m quite thrilled about what the future holds for Kapichi!
It’s sad to bid farewell to these two extraordinary figures. Thank you for all you’ve given us, and here’s to what lies ahead for both of you and KK; I’m eagerly anticipating it!
‘Really sad to hear this, wishing you all the best in everything you go on to do;
‘Absolutely gutted but wishing you all the best, you gotta do what’s right for you!’
Last year saw the release of the latest album by the band, titled “There Goes The Neighborhood.” It included popular tracks such as “Let’s Get To Work,” “Tamagotchi,” “999,” and “Zombie Nation,” which was a joint effort with Madness frontman Suggs.
