Khloe Kardashian continues to flaunt new designer puppy after being slammed by PETA

Khloé Kardashian isn’t letting negative comments change her mind about getting her kids a high-end designer dog as a holiday gift.

Khloé Kardashian, 41, recently shared cute photos of her family’s new dog on Instagram. The post came after rumors surfaced that she might be getting back together with her ex, Tristan Thompson.

She reacted strongly after PETA criticized her and her sister Kim Kardashian for buying Pomeranian puppies from breeders instead of adopting dogs from shelters. Kim had gifted each of her children with four puppies for Christmas, which sparked the criticism.

Khloé shared another adorable photo of her dog, Peppermint, on Instagram Stories, this time taken from directly above.

The dark-colored dog proudly displayed her red collar, complete with a silky bow and adorable white hearts, as she relaxed on the hardwood floor, stretching out her little legs.

Khloé didn’t bother captioning the photos, but their cuteness factor spoke for itself. 

Kim, age 45, recently brought four dogs into her home and received a lot of criticism online for giving live animals to her children as gifts.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) criticized Khloé and Kim Kardashian over the weekend for gifting puppies as Christmas presents, with Kim receiving the most criticism.

Ingrid Newkirk, who founded PETA, criticized Kim’s recent actions and supported those who spoke out against her. She also criticized Khloé for purchasing a dog from a breeder instead of adopting.

PETA’s Ingrid Newkirk criticized Kim Kardashian for promoting a plush toy instead of advocating for shelter dogs, stating it’s disappointing and that the backlash Kardashian is receiving online is justified, according to a statement given to the Daily Mail.

It’s deeply unkind to ignore the problem of homeless animals, and we’re asking Kim and Khloe Kardashian – who have previously acquired pets – to consider contacting PETA or a local animal shelter if they ever decide to get another animal. We also hope they’ll make up for past actions by having their children volunteer at a shelter, sponsoring an adoption event, or funding a spay/neuter day to help address the increasing number of unwanted puppies.

Kim recently shared a heartwarming photo of her four new dogs, all snuggled together on the sofa, to announce the latest members of her family.

‘Each kid got a puppy,’ she captioned the image.

Kim Kardashian shares four children with her ex-husband, Kanye West: daughters North, age 12, and Chicago, 7, and sons Saint, 10, and Psalm, 6.

Some fans took to Reddit to criticize her decision.

‘Puppies are not Christmas gifts for kids,’ one Reddit user wrote.

Someone else agreed, saying that animals shouldn’t be given as gifts unless the recipient has specifically asked for one and is prepared to care for it properly. They felt it was wrong to give a pet as a surprise.

Someone commented that if each child gets their own puppy, it defeats the purpose of learning to share love for a single pet. They compared it to each child having their own virtual pet, like a Tamagotchi, instead of bonding over one animal as siblings.

Someone pointed out that people often underestimate the commitment of pet ownership. They get animals simply to appear good or because they’re initially small and appealing to children, but lose interest when the pet matures. They feel this is completely unacceptable.

‘This is honestly so sad,’ another person chimed in.

Someone else seconded, ‘This is wrong on every level in every conceivable way.’

The four new additions to the family aren’t the only Pomeranians that Kim owns.

She also has dogs Sushi and Sake, whom she adopted with her sister Kourtney Kardashian in mid-2017.

In 2022, she came under fire after she appeared to show the dogs living in her garage.

North, who runs a TikTok account with her mom, shared a video of their pets wearing miniature coats and walking around the garage.

The dogs appeared to be in a large pen with pee pads inside.

The video highlighted the puppies’ Christmas decorations, featuring a small Christmas tree and stockings.

However, the post received strong criticism, with many fans accusing the SKIMS founder of not giving her dogs a suitable home.

Kim wasn’t the only one getting a new pet for Christmas! Khloe also adopted a Labrador puppy named Peppermint.

‘I am going to cry she’s the best in the world,’ she gushed. 

She also tagged Big Creek Labradors, a Labrador retriever breeder based in Indiana.

Khloe Kardashian’s daughters, seven-year-old True and three-year-old Tatum, really wanted a puppy for Christmas, and getting one means a lot more to them than just a new pet.

I was so saddened when Khloé’s beloved black lab, Gabbana, passed away back in 2018. She was fourteen years old, and Khloé always spoke so fondly of her. It was a really tough loss for her, and I remember feeling heartbroken right along with her.

Khloe shared a heartfelt message after Gabbana died, lovingly referring to her dog as her ‘first child’.

I’m heartbroken to share that my beloved Gabbana passed away last night. She wasn’t just a pet; she was like my first child, and my constant companion and friend, as I said at the time.

I’m heartbroken over losing my dog. Fourteen years is a long time to spend with a beloved companion, and she meant so much to me. I’m incredibly grateful for all the joy she brought to my life, and I’ll cherish her memory forever. I love you, Goober!

Peppermint is settling in with his new family, and Khloe has been sharing videos of True and Tatum bonding with the dog.
