Kevin Jonas’ wife Danielle reveals she has been diagnosed with Lyme disease

Kevin Jonas’ wife Danielle has opened up about her ‘traumatic’ health battle.

Danielle Jonas, age 39, has shared that she has Lyme disease. She’s been married to Jonas Brothers singer Kevin Jonas, 37, for 16 years.

The TV star recently opened up about her health problems in an interview with Parents magazine, explaining that she first became concerned when she started experiencing hair loss.

Doctors first thought she was just anxious, but a later test revealed she actually has Lyme disease.

Danielle described losing her hair as a deeply upsetting experience, to the point where she considered wearing a wig.

She also had eczema on her scalp, and she thinks it was probably caused by the inflammation from her Lyme disease.

However, instead of opting for a wig, Danielle decided to wear extensions.

Unfortunately, they irritated her eczema further.

‘I had to go out and do things with Kevin. I just wanted to feel like myself,’ she shared.

Danielle’s Lyme disease is now managed, but she occasionally still deals with symptoms like skin rashes.

As a lifestyle expert, I always advise people to be mindful of tick bites, because Lyme disease is a really tricky infection. It’s caused by bacteria and while many people feel a bit like they have the flu for a few weeks and then recover, some unfortunately struggle with symptoms for much longer – even years – and we’re still trying to figure out why that happens.

Earlier this year, Justin Timberlake also revealed he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease.

Bella Hadid, her mother Yolanda, Miranda Hart, Justin Bieber, Ben Stiller, and Kelly Osbourne are among other well-known people who have also struggled with this condition.

Danielle mentioned that her daughters, 11-year-old Alena and 8-year-old Valentina, both have eczema as well.

Having dealt with eczema myself for so long, and with people who’ve always been there for me, the biggest thing I try to share when I see their skin flaring up is simple: ‘This won’t last forever.’ It’s just about reminding them it *will* get better.

She also added that Alena has ‘always had other skin issues.’

Elsewhere in the interview she praised Kevin’s bond with their girls.

Kevin hadn’t ever said he hoped for sons, so we were all incredibly surprised and overjoyed when we found out we were having two daughters, she said.

‘He always gives them their way, but the biggest thing is just how much he loves them.’

She shared that her children are starting to enjoy the same hobbies as their father, such as golf and playing guitar, and she thinks it’s adorable.

Last year, her husband Kevin discussed his health battle with skin cancer.

The singer updated fans on his health, sharing a before-and-after video on Instagram of the removal of a basal-cell carcinoma from his head.

The Jonas Brothers member panned the camera to show a mole on his forehead while he was lying down.

Okay, so I recently had a check-up and unfortunately discovered a small skin cancer – yes, it’s real! – that needs to be removed. That means I’m heading in for surgery, and honestly, it’s a bit of a process, but I’m staying positive and taking care of it.

He then urged his 4.9 million followers to frequently get health checkups.

Kevin and Danielle met on family vacations in the Bahamas in 2007, and married two years later at Oheka Castle on Long Island, New York.

The lovebirds welcomed their first child in 2014, followed by their second daughter in 2016.

The couple discussed the joys and challenges of being parents in an interview with E! News last August.

Jonas explained to the publication that his daughters don’t always say what they truly think.

Sometimes when people share their feelings, there’s a hidden meaning behind what they’re saying. It takes practice to truly understand what they *mean*, not just what they’re saying, and we’re still learning how to do that.

Danielle also reflected on their two children growing up, and expressed, ‘It’s hard to let go.’

I really care about making the people I love happy, but it’s tough finding the right balance – you can’t always give them whatever they want.
