Kevin Bacon’s New Show Cancelled After One Season Despite Early Success

Kevin Bacon‘s series, “The Bondsman,” which earned him a Golden Globe award, has unfortunately been terminated by Amazon Prime Video following its first season.

On Friday, Deadline reported a significant setback in the career of the 66-year-old Hollywood veteran, following his Instagram post the previous day showing a glimpse of the production from the show.

On April 3, all eight half-hour episodes of the Blumhouse Television series were released, after they had premiered at SXSW earlier.

Based on reports, the Bondsman debuted in the top 10 streaming rankings by Nielsen during its first week, placing ninth among original shows and accumulating a total of 563 million minutes viewed.

But by its second week on the streamer, The Bondsman had tumbled off the chart altogether.

However, the show has stayed on Prime Video’s Top 10 list, holding the number five slot in the US.

As a lifestyle expert, I must admit that I’ve been thoroughly impressed by the critically acclaimed series, which boasts an impressive 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, despite its undeniable appeal, it seems to have struggled in generating online buzz and maintaining a consistent following.

In a nutshell, the transient project revived bounty hunter Hub Halloran, granting him an unforeseen opportunity for life, affection, and his almost forgotten musical endeavors – all while discovering that his former occupation has taken on a chilling supernatural turn, as suggested by an IMDb summary.

This week, Bacon interacted with his 4.6 million Instagram followers by posting a video demonstrating the process used by makeup artists to create his character’s tattoos and scars.

He captioned the post, ‘TV magic: Hub’s tattoos in #TheBondsman.’

Kevin has been married to wife Kyra Sedgwick since 1988.

They’re parents to 33-year-old daughter Sosie and 35-year-old son Travis.

The actor took to social media to acknowledge his wife on Mother’s Day, posting old pictures of her with their children and stating, “Any opportunity to honor you is a joy! Wishing you a Happy Mother’s Day, @kyrasedgwickofficial. I adore you and our family.

On The Drew Barrymore Show in April, the joyful spouse shared that he initially encountered his partner when she was only twelve and he was nineteen years old.

It happened in 1978 when they first crossed paths as young actors.

He reminisced about his past, mentioning he had been involved in quite a bit of Off-Broadway productions years prior. At the time, she would have been around 12, as he was 19 then.

Kyra’s mother had watched her perform in some off-Broadway plays, and she was aware that the 12-year-old aspired to become an actor.

Sedgwick’s mother purchased entrance passes for one of his performances, and as fate would have it, they encountered him during his lunch hour.

While grabbing a sandwich at the nearby deli, a young girl of about 12 approached me and cheerfully remarked, “Hey, I enjoyed your performance in the play.

The couple met for the second time in 1987 when they were cast in the movie Lemon Sky.
