Kerry Katona says she’s ‘too scared to go out’ after she was robbed during romantic hotel stay in Mayfair as she details terrifying ordeal
As I delve into Kerry Katona’s poignant story, I am deeply moved by her resilience and strength in overcoming such immense challenges. Her journey is a testament to human spirit, as she grapples with addiction, loss, and personal growth. It’s heart-wrenching to learn that her mother was a part of her initial exposure to drugs, but Kerry’s capacity for forgiveness and acceptance is truly inspiring.
I, being a devoted admirer, find myself hesitant to venture outside, following the harrowing incident of being robbed during my recent stay at an upscale hotel in Mayfair just last week, as shared by Kerry Katona.
Originally a member of the band Atomic Kitten, now aged 44, declared that approximately ‘thousands’ of her high-end items, such as her Gucci suitcases, were taken after she entrusted them to the hotel’s luggage service.
In her article for New! magazine, Kerry described a harrowing experience she had with her partner Ryan Mahoney. They decided to grab a bite to eat while they were waiting for their room to become available, but things took an unexpected turn.
In a different hotel (which I prefer not to mention), Ryan and I arrived, but our room hadn’t been prepared yet. So, we deposited our luggage with the receptionist and went out for lunch instead.
As a dedicated follower, I must confess that the experience left me deeply affected and emotionally stirred. It’s hard not to feel alarmed when one’s sense of safety is challenged in such a way.
‘When things like this happen it makes me scared to go out as I don’t want to be targeted.’
Kerry mentioned that her expensive Gucci handbag valued at around £1,200, along with her prescription for chronic back pain, phone, and earphones, were among the things stolen from her.
It comes after Kerry denied taking drugs at Hugh Grant’s birthday party.
At Hugh’s 64th birthday bash, Kerry unexpectedly made an appearance along with stars like Liz Hurley and Dame Joan Collins.
Not long after, she shared a video on her Instagram Story of herself joking around with A-list celebrities. However, she was taken aback when her followers speculated that she might have been intoxicated.
In her latest article for New! Magazine, she mentioned that they had an enjoyable conversation and he was very charming. She usually retires by 10:30 PM, as she finds it hard to stay up late.
‘Although, I posted a video to my Instagram the next morning where I was cracking jokes and just having a chat, and so many people commented that I was drunk or on drugs! ‘
Previously on the panel of Loose Women, this individual has battled addiction issues. Earlier this year, they disclosed that they underwent reconstructive surgery as a means to repair the harm inflicted by cocaine abuse.
Kerry was married to Brian McFadden, a member of Westlife, from 2002 to 2006. They share two children, Molly, who is 22, and Lilly-Sue, aged 21. However, after that relationship ended, she had Heidi, 17, and Max, 16, with her second husband, Mark Croft.
Additionally, she has a nine-year-old daughter named DJ with the late George Kay. However, she only showed up at the glamorous event with Molly and Heidi by her side.
She exclaimed: ‘I was astonished, for I don’t consume alcohol and it was early in the day, with only water to my name. It can be rather frustrating that I must repeatedly justify myself.’
Previously crowned champion of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, this individual has openly discussed struggles with addiction. In the past, she voluntarily sought treatment at a rehabilitation center in both 2008 and 2010.
I’ve been beaming with pride for the past 15 years, knowing she’s maintained her sobriety. She’s unequivocal about it: she refuses to dwell on regrets, choosing instead to keep pushing forward.
To Good Morning Britain hosts Ranvir Singh and Richard Madeley, she shared the outcomes of her surgery, disclosing that it was her mother who initially introduced her to drugs during her teenage years.
Discussing her addiction, she explained: ‘I think cocaine became my crutch, it was my best friend, it gave the support I needed, when I needed it.
Instead of doing it every day, I tended to binge on it, finding myself unable to stop once I began. However, there would be periods where I wouldn’t touch it for several months. Over time, it became like a close companion, as others seemed to rely heavily on me.
At that moment in time, she openly confessed that she had overdosed, but then quickly continued using drugs, taking another dose of cocaine immediately afterward.
Kerry reminisced: ‘At the age of 14, before I became well-known, I began using drugs. The first time I tried a drug was with my mother.’
Despite cherishing her deeply and having feelings of affection for her, my mother and I have experienced our fair share of struggles, and at times, she didn’t quite fulfill the role of a traditional nurturer. In fact, there were instances where she disguised harmful substances as harmless sweets, which I thought was just part of life growing up with her.
She went on to say that she had moved on from her past however, saying: ‘My mum wasn’t very well. It is what it is, it’s happened I can’t sit with regret and hatred.
