Kerry Katona Criticizes Holly Willoughby’s ‘Polished’ Look for Reality Show – Exclusive!

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I couldn’t help but express my perspective when I heard about Holly Willoughby’s exciting new role hosting the Netflix series, ‘Celebrity Bear Hunt.’ While I admire her professional growth, I found myself sharing some candid thoughts on this venture.

This month, the new reality series has debuted on the streaming platform, featuring Holly, who is 44 years old, trading her glamorous red carpet outfits for camouflage shorts as she co-hosts the thrilling show with adventurer Bear Grylls, aged 50.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I have to share my perspective on the recent casting for the jungle adventure show. While I admire and respect Holly, it’s important to note that I harbor some doubts about her being the perfect fit. In my view, she seems a bit too polished, which might not align with the raw, unfiltered spirit often required in the jungle. Of course, this is just my personal take; we’ll have to wait and see how it unfolds!

In an interview with OK! Magazine, the TV figure shared: “I’ve been tuning into Celebrity Bear Hunt, and I must say, I’m quite entertained by it. I appreciate the ensemble of celebrities, but I have my doubts about Holly Willoughby as the show’s host.

She seems somewhat unfamiliar and awkward amidst the jungle with Bear Grylls. Don’t get me wrong, Holly is an excellent host, but I find it a bit peculiar for her role in that setting.

She added: ‘She appears more refined, fit for daytime television, compared to being rugged and prepared for the wilderness.’

Reports indicate that Celebrity Bear Hunt won’t likely return for another series in Costa Rica due to concerns over drug cartel threats.

In this reality TV series, an assortment of unexpected celebrities find themselves in the dense Central American wilderness, where they become potential victims to one of the planet’s most formidable predators – a bear.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t contain my excitement! Though the streaming service hasn’t officially confirmed it yet, whispers abound that a second series is on its way due to the phenomenal success of the first one!

Nevertheless, a significant shift is on the horizon since Netflix is considering relocating their filming operations away from Costa Rica due to safety issues, as reported by The Sun.

It appears that South Africa and Australia could potentially serve as the settings for the second season of the show.

According to the source, a great deal of preparation goes into making a show as big as this one.

In addition to everything else, there are the arrangements and safety precautions required for ensuring the well-being of Holly, Bear, and the celebrities participating numbering around a dozen.

Additionally, they need to consider the safety of a large team needed for the program’s production. Notably, South Africa and Australia are considered more stable compared to Costa Rica.

Host Holly returned to the screen with Bear Hunt following her departure from This Morning, expressing that she found it comforting to film in the secluded jungle environment.

She mentioned that it was truly delightful to be fully engrossed in such an experience, escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life, finding herself deep within the wilderness and nature, where her phone had no signal and she was cut off from technology.

‘And actually, in some ways, it felt safer being there than it did being back here.’

After some challenging months, it became known that Holly was under a chilling kidnap and murder scheme, following which her return to television took place.

Security guard Gavin Plumb devised a plan to surprise the presenter at her London residence under cover of darkness, intending to render both Holly and her husband Dan Baldwin unconscious with chloroform. (123 words)

According to his wicked plot, he intended to abduct Holly, secluding her in a solitary, dark place resembling a dungeon. His plan was to eventually kill her by cutting her throat.

In July 2024, Gavin was officially convicted of his heinous scheme and received concurrent life imprisonment sentences, with a minimum of 16 years to serve for each of his three crimes.

Following a difficult period, Holly decided that conducting the Bear Hunt would serve as her path toward resuming normalcy, receiving the call prior to Gavin’s conviction.

‘It felt like the right time for me,’ she told the Daily Mail at Netflix’s launch for Bear Hunt.

Upon receiving Bear’s call and learning about the show’s concept, I responded with an affirmative nod, thinking it sounded fantastic. Moreover, since my children are big fans of Bear, this seemed like an obvious choice for them.

Over the years, with my little ones still young at heart, I found myself reluctant to be away from home for extended periods of time while traveling abroad.

Despite jetting off to Australia for I’m A Celeb, my children accompanied me. The whole experience seemed like an incredibly thrilling endeavor. In essence, this opportunity was a resounding “yes” for me.

She spent an entire month in Costa Rica, filming, with neither her TV producer spouse Dan nor their kids – Harry (aged 16), Belle (aged 13) or Chester (aged 10) present.
