Kenny Chesney will bring country music to the Las Vegas Sphere in May
Kenny Chesney is Sphere-bound.
On Thursdays, the nation’s music icon disclosed his plans to start a 12-performance series at a cutting-edge, dome-shaped location in Las Vegas, beginning in May. This decision comes nine months after he completed a U.S. tour that included a stop at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium in July.
Initially, a Nashville band is slated to perform at Sphere, an extraordinary venue boasting a massive 160,000-square-foot high-resolution video screen, touted as the highest resolution in the world. The renowned artist Kenny Chesney, aged 56, will kick off his residency there starting May 22, with shows extending through mid-June. Ticket sales are scheduled to begin on January 31.

Over the weekend, the well-known Los Angeles country-rock band commenced a 20-show engagement at the modern venue located near the Las Vegas Strip.
Opened in September 2023, Sphere – constructed at a price exceeding $2 billion – initially hosted a 40-date concert run by U2. This grand event, later transformed into a movie, could only be viewed at the venue. Besides U2, other notable acts such as Phish, Dead & Company, and electronic artist Anyma have graced its stage. The Eagles currently hold a residency there, while Dead & Company is due to resume performances starting March 20.
In a statement, Chesney expressed that he hasn’t performed at the Sphere venue as of yet. However, he and his crew have watched U2’s movie and were utterly captivated by it.
As I considered just how powerful an impact our programs have, various ideas popped into my head,” he continued. “Once you immerse yourself completely in the show, that’s when the brainstorming and dreaming start.
Last year saw the release of Chesney’s latest album, “Born,” which produced a top country radio chart hit, “Take Her Home.
